Posted - 03/19/2005 : 06:12:25 Yea, I know that some people out there, who have been members for a while frequent it much less than they used to, mildly disappointed with what seem to be repetitive and uninteresting topics....but I for one think that this is still a very great forum....
...and I dont mind reading some of the same things over again from time to time, I love Frank Black. Love to read about him.
When you consider that we have a lot of things that we hate repeated to us on a daily basis....this is not bad at all.
I've been here for over two years now, and I think that newcomers can talk about things we've seen before without having to do archival searches that sometimes dont work at all...and I've read things in these repeated topics that I didnt read the first time around.
So stop bitching... |

Indeed, the mix CD swaps rock! Perhaps someone should start an apprecation thread for them too.

You're right Homer, the mix CD swaps are just great, that was the first reason why I started posting on the general chat. I've learned a lot from it, many people with very good taste.

Posted - 03/20/2005 : 16:53:37 Thanks, FBF. These threads make me feel like it's worth putting the time in. Glad you like it.
I have also been introduced to some great music through here. Though I've heard of some bands through threads and forumites, I strongly recommend people participating in the occasional mix exchanges that come up from time to time. I've discovered a couple albums as a result which are incredible.

Posted - 03/19/2005 : 09:29:14 As a relatively new member, I appreciate the hospitality and expressions of welcome that I've received here at FB.net.
And, yeah, I'm sure I've posted some duplicate Topics, but, hey, I appreciate the rest of you overlooking that and not holding that against me or any other newbie.
It can be intimidating to submit posts, and starting new topics, forget about it, that's a whole new level of participation that some of us may be uncomfortable with. Our comfort zone is not totally dependent on encouragement from veterans, but it sure does help. I've got pretty thick skin and I'm not shy, but, starting a new topic is still a little intimidating. But like I said, I've received nothing but hospitality from all of the members here.
I look forward to a continuation of the "Good Times" here at FB.net!
