I quite like the idea of being an arrogant Frenchman. Despite our differences, I think the English and French are similar in some ways, not least in national pride and arrogance. Also, we're proud of not being American.
I've always admired the French propensity for idleness/industrial action (e.g. blocking up the entire country with lorries).

We both have an arrogant opinion then (I'm practising being French).
Before I had a car, I would have agreed with you, but it's just so much better with one. Public transport's all very well, and I use it to get to work, but local journeys are a million times quicker with a car.
To be fair, I was irresponsible, selfish and dumb anyway...
