The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen was indeed not very good. A couple of nice moments, but on the whole, not too great.
I haven't seen Dumb & Dumberer, and that's despite being a HUGE fan of the original. I believe it is absolute tosh.

Best thing about Highlander 2 was finding a $20 bill in the cup holder by my seat during the movie. Kind of made up for the brain damage the movie gave me. Original Highlander-that was good.
Worst movie I knew would be bad, but somehow caved in and saw it based on the graces of the first movie anyway: Dumb & Dumber 2. The original Dumb & Dumber had some classic, albeit idiotic, comedic moments, but the second movie was pure hell. |

If I could remember it well enough to foment an argument against it, I'd love to answer your question. I just remember strongly disliking it. That you enjoyed it makes me wonder if perhaps I missed something redeeming.

I already said it once but I love reading the comments on imdb.com for crappy movies. Here's what people say about Highlander II:
"This movie runs the decathlon of stupidity and comes in first in every event"
"Couldn't have been worse if they tried"
"I understand the CIA is going to be using this movie to interrogate suspects now"
"I think that I am stupider for having watched Highlander 2"

I liked The Rock for what it was.
The Avengers was terrible though. No doubts there. Haven't seen a Highlander movie.

League of Extraordinary Gentleman is a movie Sean should be ashamed of himself for. Along with the Avengers, which was so bad it transcended the stages where you shut it off, leave it on because it's so awful it's funny, and we had to just shut it off.

There seems to be a lot of hate towards the English Patient. OK Juliette Binoche is boring but I liked the movie. Of course I saw it on a date and it had a major impact on my appreciation of the film, but I still think it was pretty good. And I like Kristin whatshername, Thomas Scott or something.
Life Is Beautiful did suck.

huh? life is beautiful and the english patient sucked? how so?
my taste in movies usually runs counter to the popular opinion- two movies which for the life of me I can't figure out why people love: high fidelity and ghostworld. I even know one person who went as far to say "if you don't get those two movies, then you surely don't get me." and I have to agree with him. |
