I've just returned from the Odyssey of Aggravation that is visiting the family. I've been tearing my hair out for the last three days, but I have some pretty cool loot (and about five extra pounds) to show for it. Some highlights:
-a new computer (!)
-a cashmere robe thing
-America - the Book
-a squishy toy lizard that looks and feels so real I've already had to pry it out of my cat's mouth twice  
-a very cool MAC train case
-half an apple pie in the refrigerator, mmm.
Some lowlights:
-a throw pillow with a picture of my dog screened on the front. barf.
-a Jessica Simpson CD. WTF. I "accidentally" left it behind at their house.
What about you guys? Did Santa bring you anything nice?

Well if it makes you feel any better;
I found out my dad wrote me out of the will,
and my mom forgot to call me because she was busy with new boyfriend...
Sounds funny but I look at this positively,
I'm just glad they're leaving me the hell alone.
But my family got me some really cool stuff,
hubby got me a few boxsets,
my son wrote me the oh so cute book of coupons good for chores and hugs and kisses!
and my daughter made me all sorts of ornaments in kindergarten.
Now that's the best.
Oh and we bought this new computer, so watch out computer nerds, I'm gonna catch up! ahahahaha

I don't fit into the whole "normal" thing in my house. And yes I'm aware that sounds like I'm some angst-ridden teenager but that's not the case. Everyone in my house just figures if it can't be bought at Old Navy, it's just not important enough to notice. I'm not hard to shop for at all... I guess it's just to much of a hassle to like something out of the ordinary.

And i bought my self the Beach Boys Pet Sounds Sessions box set, and im getting a new phone, and my boyfriends taking me on a shopping trip, and iove got a load of cash to come from my uncles.
Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me. |

This is a book I bought at random a couple of years ago, it's called The Art Of Looking Sideways and it's been in my bathroom ever since. (When I was growing up the presses in that room were bursting with National Geographics) It's beautifully put together and inspiring whatever your pursuits lean towards.

i'm going to get a cookbook i saw that was a "one pot" cookbook, full of stews, soups, etc. i have a very small kitchen w/ very little counter space, so soups are a blessing for my tiny abode. i'm going to use one of the gift cards to buy the arrested development season 1 and the simpsons season 5 dvds. with the rest i'll just look around and see what pops out at me.
