What would you vote for as the best TV comedy?

The Office.
The best comedy programme EVER. I also know that there are at least 3 other fans on here!

Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Haha. its certainly up there with other RTE 'classics' such as leave it to mrs o brien (i am showing my age), the cassidys (yikes) and the legend of irish comedy - upwardly mobile.

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

Heh. Aenghus. What a happy dickhead. He doesn't do it any more unfortunately, used to love it when he did. Linda Martin is the hostess now, and not nearly as laughable.
And the team captains have changed for younger, trendier people (no idea who they are though).
Ainsley Harriot was on it a while ago, giving it absolute socks. Was very funny.
Newo Posted - 11/25/2004 : 06:35:28
Is that still on? Friend of mine was in the Gaeltacht with Aenghus whatsisname's son years ago and he made a celebrity visit in a helicopter. Cool eh?

Moving from the clown to the jester will mean moving from similar to same, from alike to identical, from comparable to analogous. Though applied differently, the colours used on one can be used on another, and a couple of changes of costume will rapidly transform the jester into a clown and the clown into a jester. Strictly speaking, they almost duplicate each other as regards clothes and function, the only difference between them, from a social point of view, is that clowns do not usually visit the palaces of kings.

Not comedy, but does anyone know what happened to Streethawk? I would have thought that was due an ironically-likeable phase ages ago.

p.s. South Park dubbed into Spanish is great.

Generally speaking, those programs are always quite disappointing when you watch 'em again- like Happy Days, that I used to love as a kid.

Never seen Dick Spanner so I can't comment on that... but I'd like to watch Family Ties again, with Michael J. Fox playing Alex P. Keaton: the way I remember it, it was excellent.

What about "Fraggle Rock"? I love puppets.

Delighted somebody mentioned The Young Ones.
I'd probably go for The Simpsons too though.

Okay a BBC serie I adore: Men Behaving Badly
absolute precious

I like a more recent BBC serie in that genre named Coupling

of course Blackadder, Bottom, Simspons, and some sitcoms like Newsradio and Friends too.

I think the reunion is actually just an interview with the cast... not a new episode. I think it might be airing on Thanksgiving Night.

Haven't caught much of the new SP episodes... but hopefully that will change soon :)

I'm very much enjoying the new South Parks. Last week was a little lame (PETA) but it had some funny moments.

This week was fantastic! Especially the 'shit when they die' thing...hahahahahahahha

I'm a great fan of shows like Bottom, Blackadder, Alan Partridge, Office.... however a show I find hillarious (but it is not actually intended to be comedy) is Renegade.

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

There's one show I used to like I can't remember the name. It was like the simpsons but on crack...They had this family that lived on the bad side of town(where all the nuclear waste was) and they all had some sort of deformity. The Father had no arms or legs and Will Farrell did the voice. It was awesome.

Are you thinking of The Oblongs? I never watched it, but that description sounds about right, based on what I've seen in commercials.

I figured that this was about current live action comedy and if that's the case it's really just Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development for me.

Anyway, my vote goes to "The Simpsons" and "Futurama", excluding the first and the last seasons.

Fishing With John is another favorite. A dead pan parody of fishing shows hosted by jazz musician John Lurie with celebrity guest. Bizzare.

This war, it will be just like the War on Drugs. It will be potent and effective and our objectives will be clear. The nation had a nasty drug problem and we declared a war on drugs and spent billions over many years and now you can't buy drugs anymore. It will be just like that.
