Posted - 10/30/2004 : 14:17:25 Ooh, just the mention of Ferris Bueller in the other thread set this one off - I love the eighties. I'm going to have to nominate Highlander and the Breakfast Club as being infinitely cheesy but hugely enjoyable.
Also, Romeo & Juliet with ol' Leo and Claire. I don't know if this is considered credible now or not, but I love it to bits.

Posted - 11/02/2004 : 21:15:02 Has anyone mentioned "Heathers"? I could recite lines from memory when I was a teenager. And I've seen "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" a few more times then I'd care to admit. Giant ants!

Posted - 11/02/2004 : 19:52:22 i agree with munchien, obfuscate and sir rockaby.. a lot of those films aren't cheesy to me either. to me, a cheesy film is usually one that is also, arguably, a bad film. but you still like it. i would consider ET and BREAKFAST CLUB and FERRIS BEULERS great films.. but then i guess one could argue that all of them have some cheese in them.
guilty pleasure film: RED DAWN
it's the cheesiest concept, but i loved this film when i was a kid. and if it were on tv right now, i'd probably watch it. (ok, i own it on DVD)

and
Less Than Zero
two of the most awful films, not just of the 80's, but of all time...and both star the sickening lack-of-talent, butt ugly Andrew McCarthy. I've seen these two things a number of times, and each time, I lose a bit of self-respect.
