Does anyone want to give me piano lessons, by the way?

Posted - 07/11/2005 : 11:18:56 It wasn't THE girl, I should probably stress that. And it was just a random situation rather than a specific serenading. 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' goes down well, I find.

Serenading is sweetly romantic, Simon. Do it as often as you can!

Posted - 07/11/2005 : 11:15:16 Yeah perhaps it's a bit too creepy for some girls though. The lyrics border on the stalker-ish or at least obsessed, as beautiful as they are. Not too many girls like stalkers.
Try Every Breath You.........actually forget that.
You had balls to play that to her though. I admire that. Wish I had some.

Posted - 07/11/2005 : 10:44:43 I miss this thread. The other evening I ended up in a girl's flat, after she'd invited me in for some coffee, playing her flatmate's guitar and singing 'Been Thinking About You' at her. All entirely innocent, no attempted seduction I assure you, but it reminded me of here. That's a pretty good serenading song, maybe? The main sentiment, at least. Been thinkin 'bout you, and there's no rest, Should I still love you, still see you in bed? But I'm playin' with myself, what do you care, When the other men are far far better.
Fits for me at least. Um, to some extent, maybe the 'been thinking about you' bit.

Posted - 06/10/2005 : 16:30:40 Once my girlfriend wrote me a poem about herself, in portuguese, and as i went home I sang it back to her on the telephone..it was.. almost 20 years ago, when i barely played guitar.. The other day i was back in Vigo and walked past her door, the same way we walked back from college, i had walked it for almost 18 years.. unfortunately, i lost that poem along with her letters, i had lost her long ago. I agree, True Blue is a great song for serenading In my life many things have disappeared, but is clear what endures BTW hte othre day met a nice girl in a boat on my way to cacilhas.. we had to go our own way when the trip ended a pitty, because with a sunset as that there is no need of serenading http://spaces.msn.com/members/DoDGoNe/ photo album cacilhas

Just flicking through this thread, I definitely have looked up more Kristin Hersh now, and it's just great. I saw her with 50 Foot Wave last year and solo this year, and she's brilliant.

Posted - 12/23/2004 : 05:27:29 I do Lover You Should´ve Come Over in the street. Jeff Buckley is far easier to sing than you´d think, you just gotta wear it in like a new pair of shoes. As far as serenading goes, it´d have to be something original (or a flamenco version of Do Ya Think I´m Sexy?)

I'm thinking of how you told the guy "I didn't mean to throw up!". That must have been very comforting.
