---6-------6---6-------
-----------------------

But Joey doesn't play with a capo on the first fret, just Black.

Yep, that an Fmaj7 at the 0:36 mark.
hmmm.. I didn't know the guy ever played chords like that. Only majors and minors, strickly.

Is my guitar out of tune, or does he use a capo on the first fret?

lol yer he's one crazy kid. I swear every diffrent show ive seen them play( on dvd or telly ) they play the song diffrently from the last, but im not complaining. By the way whats he called now isit still frank black or has he changed again if any of you lot know?
fbc Posted - 05/25/2005 : 11:32:21
i've a dvd of him playing Pixies solo and i'm sure this is pretty similar
The Dm and A# chords in the verse are played as 'barre' on the 5th and 6th fret respectively, if you didn't already know.

frank always amazes me
i expect some chords and riffs to be different, more complicated* than what they really are
(*many a time it's vice versa too)

and when i presume it's a barre chord, guaranteed it's open

yer cheers for that, i think thats how he does it. i thought it was joey who played it at first but im pretty sure it is frank

when fb plays this acoustic, he strums an open A minor, sings "hold my head" then

e-----0------
b---1---1-/-3
g------------

then sings "we'll trampoline" followed by
e-----0-----
b---1---1--1
g-----------

then into F (maj7?) for "finally through the roof"
