03 Sept 2009 ~ from bf.net

"As far as things go, Black Francis is recording again, recording again indeed. A new record involving EDF has commenced at Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles and will continue in London."

Sounds good!

Just a personal preference, that's all. It's great that Pixies keep going this way if it means thousands of fans get to see them live for the first time. That's who I think these shows are really for.

Are you going Ziggy?

New Black Francis Album
Category: Music
Eric is presently in London working on a new album with Black Francis between his shows with The Pixies. The word is that it's going extremely well!

Watch this space.... Or keep an eye on www.frankblack.net for more information.

jediroller Posted - 09/28/2009 : 20:37:55
Come on Gro, Black Francis is hard to miss.

It's clearly just a souvenir shot, taken by and for the studio, it's probably hanging on a wall somewhere over there now. It doesn't have much value apart from that. Unless you're a gearhead, I suppose, and want to examine every knob and switch on that board.

I hope I didn't offend you man, I was just feeling really silly that day and couldn't resist my stupid joke.

Frank should do some kind of studio diary. It might be funny. Too bad he doesn't have time.

Who knows, you might find a slightly bigger version of that picture somewhere in there.

Yep but I was not talking about your post. On the site it's the same size.
No big deal anyway. It's just that it is a bit absurd to put such a small picture. Yeah, I THINK Black Francis is on it. Not sure... Well at least you can tell its a pretty fancy studio.
Mickey Posted - 09/26/2009 : 09:43:41
to be fair, even when enlarged the picture is still really small.

what a tiny picture
you cant see anything
Ziggy Posted - 09/25/2009 : 08:32:52
I don't want to speculate, but I'm sure Jason is still very much in the loop, what with the new Grand Duchy album on the way, and Wavelength being in the home town etc.
jediroller Posted - 09/25/2009 : 08:04:52
The same info (probably a press release from the studio itself) appears here and here, with a photo.

I assume this is the same Henderson : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EScRptcZdHw&feature=related

hmm, I hope Jason Carter's exclusion is just because he's busy with his new baby. Also, more involvement from Catholics members, please. Dave Phillips is a great start!

So, according to this report, other musicians on the new record include Todd O'Keefe, Dave Phillips, and Dave Henderson...a very interesting line-up to say the least!

The real p**** stuff was some kind of joke to get rid of that p**** curse.
Every mummy has a curse. As a mummy band, the p**** has one.
When the best of was out i thought it was a strange title but now i d really like to say death to the pixies.
It s just shadowing everything Frank does. Much worse than before the reunion.
Czar Posted - 09/14/2009 : 16:59:33
Excellent news. I'm looking forward to this, not backward with the Pixies...

Do you think the Pixies were a brouillon of Black Francis?
Brank_Flack Posted - 09/14/2009 : 13:27:54
Yeah, don't really by the new pixies thing either, but am still glad EDF is producing with Charles. The two are a good creative fit.
