On the UK iTunes atleast, there are 2 versions of Bluefinger. One with the 11 tracks we know, but another for the same overall price with 2 more songs, 'Virginia Reel' and 'Polly's Into Me.' Virginia Reel is from BF.net, the "sweet Jesus" song that appeared as a minute long clip or whatever. Both songs are over 4:40 long.. i'm gonna get them in a sec. Discuss!

Can you not buy them, 999?

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Its been awhile since I have checked the forum or made a post and I just found out about the Bluefinger bonus tracks. I really need to hear these songs. So if anyone who has access to them would be so kind to share them with me it would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE!!

polly's in to me sounds like a classic catholics track, just without loads of guitar wanking. love it

Polly's Into Me is certainly growing on me more and more each day, whereas instantly I prefered Virgina Reel.

Maybe they were supposed to be on the Captain Pasty single. Is that completely dead now?

Yeah, they're both good! Get them bonus tracks. They don't really fit into the Bluefinger album, but they're definitely worth owning. Sweet Jesus!

We're a go on the US iTunes store with the bonus tracks! And they're available individually!
matto Posted - 09/13/2007 : 11:50:11
i signed up for emusic, got my 25 free downloads: snake oil & one more road for the hit, plus polly's into me as well as some random rap song they said was frank black (but wasn't), all mp3s. then promptly cancelled my free trial account! absolutely no charges whatsover. i hate to be such a cheapskate but.... when the fb+c b-side albums become real cds then i'll buy em, and there's no other way for me to get the bluefinger bonus trax. anyone feel like emailing virginia reel to oreficematt@hotmail.com??? i mean, how the hell else can i hear it!?! thanks in advance for anyone so daring....!

by the by, i went to manchester, uk last week and got the uk edition of 93-03 and bluefinger, as well as the radio promo threshold apprehension single, plus threshold 7". total black francis/fb shopping spree. super sweet yo!

I oinked them also, as they were not available on US iTunes as of Tuesday. I'll probably buy them when they appear.

Well, for all its flaws, I'd rather have CD over rubbish iTunes formats anyday!
lumpy Posted - 09/12/2007 : 12:16:17
I guess the rest of the world can just hope that Virginia Reel shows up on a single.
coastline Posted - 09/11/2007 : 04:58:23
"Bluefinger" doesn't seem to be available today from the U.S. iTunes store. It's on eMusic, though, with "Polly's Into Me" as a bonus track. Still, I'm going to my record store today, anyway. Can't wait to have a physical album in my hands after a half-year of listening to this thing.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
kfs Posted - 09/08/2007 : 00:05:11
It seems like most people are preferring "Virginia Reel" but I'm really into "Polly's Into Me."

I tried to figure out the lyrics last nite but I can't quite get all of it. For example, what's he saying in the beginning right after "...underneath the Roman sky?"

I like the bass part in this song. It's cool to know that's Violet!
barnard666 Posted - 09/07/2007 : 08:08:17
I downloaded them, then burnt them to a CD and re-ripped them so they werent in that crappy apple format, I can't vbelieve you can't edit the tags on purchased music, I know its black francis, but I want it all to go under the frank black name on my mp3 player so I don't have to scan around to find all his songs...I expected these to be the extra tracks on the japanese release, but it seems that that version has the same number of tracks as UK/US for once...damn I wanted nice non crappy compressed versions.

but yup they seem like decent enough songs on a couple of plays.
Ziggy Posted - 09/07/2007 : 05:26:37
Yeah, I'll resign myself to it. Grrr.
billgoodman Posted - 09/07/2007 : 04:34:44
let's do that, I guess!

As far as I understand these things, you need to install iTunes (the software) to buy from iTunes (the store).

how can I acquire these songs, anybody an idea? Do I have to download iTunes (as a programme?).
Cause I only want the tracks, I couldn't find it on the iTunes-website. Maybe it is because my IP-adress is from Holland?

Haha, it just hit me that Violet's backing vocals on "Virginia Reel" give off a bit of a Klaus Nomi vibe. Totally awesome.

I put it on my Vision:M but you have to burn it to disc then re-upload it to get past the restrictions.
Crispy Water Posted - 09/05/2007 : 14:16:53
I can't check the itunes listings from work, does anybody know if these are available in Canada?

Why can't somebody just once release a Canada-exclusive bonus track? At least make these ones available to the entire Commonwealth...

Nothing is ever something.

Strangely, they reminded me of the Catholics - more precisely "Western Star": "Dancing to the new bolero (ooh-ooh)"...

Oh, and "Polly" sounds a bit Bowie.

The "Hoos" near the middle of Polly definately Bowie and my favourite part.

the duplicated "he's a good dog, Eric" lyric reminds me of Talking Heads' Once In A Lifetime's "remove 'move.." phrasing. V.cool.
