quote: Frank Black, aka Black Francis, solo acoustic December 2024... 3 nights only All tickets go on sale on Friday 1st November at 12 noon ET.
Tues Dec 3rd: Brattleboro, VT, The Stone Church (On sale Nov 1) Thurs Dec 5th: Portsmouth, NH, 3S Artspace (On sale Nov 1st) Sat Dec 7th: Newport, RI, Jane Pickens Theatre (On sale Nov 1st)
Me and my wife are planning on driving the 3 and a half hours to the Vermont one. I have a friend that lives near there!
Kind of wondering if it's possible to have our baby with us. The venue is a small church. If he cries my wife said she'll walk him around outside.
This is a very exciting time to be a Frank fan. The mind spins at what songs he might perform. Perhaps some of those 40 country songs that were gutted for Doggerel, etc? |

Would be awful if he played mainly Surfer Rosa and Doolittle ...that would actually still be a great show.
Ideally he plays some new songs and TOTY

Posted - 10/30/2024 : 23:17:44 Me and my wife see things like this as basically "excuses" to go travel. Like that's actually part of the appeal, that the concert is in some faraway town we've never explored. We don't have money to fly to Paris or anything but we can make tons of fun for ourselves driving 3 hours and checking out some record stores or something. |

Posted - 10/30/2024 : 08:25:56 I'm really considering doing a 3 hour drive also myself to Vermont. That would be the first acoustic FB show I'd see in what must be 6-8+ years at this point. Considering the drive I'd maybe get an air bnb nearby or something and explore Vermont a little too. |

Isn't the Guilford studio right there?
Absolutely!

Posted - 10/29/2024 : 12:32:49 Incredibly excited. I am sure you can find a very nice cup of coffee and almost definitely a nice donut. As far as pizza, depends on what you like. I am sure there is a woodfired pizza place somewhere in Brattleboro, but you ain't getting a good NY style pie.

The issue with Brattleboro, and any other large town or city in Vermont, is that they are the only places that provide services for folks who are struggling with addiction and other issues. So it does bring those type of people in, which can increase the amount of sketchy-ness.
Still a nice town. Have not been there recently enough to suggest food, but there have always been some good restaurants there.
Yikes! Sounds like Seattle which is that strange mix of super nice and a fucking nightmare.
Restaurants: I'm gonna be real here, all I care about is where to get great coffee, and great pizza. I'm into donuts too when I travel. Those are my concerns.
Anyway, god I am excited about this. I can't believe within a few months I'll see Frank solo, a Teenager of the Year show, and a Bossanova/Trompe show. What more could I want?? |

Posted - 10/29/2024 : 10:03:52 Was just in Brattleboro this past August - first time in 20 years or so - some sketchy elements and a lot of closed businesses. I highly do not recommend eating at Shin-La. Have fun! |
