Posted - 09/10/2006 : 16:29:56 We can't help that we live in such an inconveniant location. It doesn't make us inconveniant people or anything. Were just normal folk who want to catch a cool show here and there. I notice you're heading to St Petersburg, which is about 3 1/2 hours away. Let me tell you something Frank, and listen closely. It has been scientifically proven by Professor Izenhoke of the University of Atlantis that St. Petersburgians are the most inconveniant people on the face of the earth. If you don't believe me, a simple self induced trance should enable you to communicate telepathically with those of the Atlantean race(Including Professor Izenhoke). Now that you are aware of this startling find, I believe it would be of your best interest to simply skip over St. Petersburg and its inconveniant inhabitants and come to Miami instead. After all, the skies are always sunny, and more importantly, the majority of the crowd will actually understand the lyrics to your songs in Espanol. Adieu. |

Maybe it's all the vice in Miami that scares bands away. ;)

Seriously though, I think a lot of bands hate touring Florida unfortunately. It's totally out of the way and there is a lot of redneck shit to put up with (mainly in the northern half).
Really?!
I don't know how Florida is particularly out of the way...is every corner of the US too out of the way for bands to visit?

Seriously though, I think a lot of bands hate touring Florida unfortunately. It's totally out of the way and there is a lot of redneck shit to put up with (mainly in the northern half). I've known two bands that have toured through Tallahassee and they both encountered a lot of problems with the locals. One guy was almost killed <cue "Deliverence" banjo riff>. My advice would be to take a road trip, 3 1/2 hours? Good excuse to get out of town, make a day of it.
