Posted - 06/25/2004 : 18:36:08 I also got my discs today (both Vancouver shows). They were shipped separately, so I paid about $2 tax and $5 "admin" fee EACH. Puzzled as to why they weren't stuffed in the same envelope. Neither had its customs form filled out so both were opened at the border [this may explain some of the delay]. I guess customs buddies just picked the value of the discs out of their heads to base the tax charges on, just happy they didn't pick a more accurate number! One case is cracked (not a biggie), but all 4 discs arrived.
The happy part of the story: it's my birthday (good timing Disclive, how did you know?) and was having a bit of a crappy day. Spun the first bit of 4/22 with the false start of La La Love You in the car and full-on happiness has been restored! Can't wait to hear the rest!!

Posted - 06/25/2004 : 09:24:18 Received 5 out of the 7 ordered today. My discs are in perfect condition, amazing considering they've been in the postal system for nearly two months now. I'm very happy with the sound and the packaging. Thanks all at Disclive!
Now FedEx must hurry with those Brixton discs.......

Posted - 06/25/2004 : 06:41:31 Phew!
I *finally* received my two Winnipeg CDs on Wednesday -- #280 & #560 I think. The packaging actually looked fairly good though some of the little CD holder things were broken -- one enough so that the CD can't be properly held in place -- and there was a small amount of damage to the spines of both digipacs.
Looking forward to receiving my Brixton one soon. (Hopefully in a bit better condition.)
BTW, I never did hear back from the E-mail I sent DiscLive a week and a half ago... |

Posted - 06/21/2004 : 23:15:03 I received my cd's today..they were packaged in a fairly rigid box, however there wasn't enough material inside to stop the cd's from shifting around so some of the corners were damaged, some of the plastic cases were actually chipped and some of the cd's had come out of their package and were scratched up. Furthermore, the order was incomplete and I was missing 2 of the shows (both Eugene 28/04). My friend also got his today, and he wasn't so lucky..they were sent in a jiffy .50 cent bubble mailer which was all squished up and had holes in it - the cardboard digipaks were all mushed up on the edges and many of the cd's were scratched up. It looked like a real cheap way to send them. He's very unhappy to say the least. I'm atleast happy that I received most of the cd's, but a bit put out that the problems aren't yet over (I still have to arrange to send some of these back for replacements - and get my Eugene shows). anyone else get theirs yet? Are there others on here who didnt' get their Eugene shows? |

Posted - 06/19/2004 : 18:38:35 I received two of my three disc live cds early last week - still waiting for a Eugene show. Actually came in near mint condition, look really good too, would have preferred if they personalised the gigs a bit more though. Sound quality is outstanding. My major gripe is with the way the cds were burnt. Many tracks aren't split correctly, and all tracks have a 0.002s (i checked the wave file) gap between them, not something you would notice unless you listen for it but it is quite audible on several track progressions - being a trader its something im tuned into. Its normally what happens when you burn audio cds with non-specific or outdated burn programs that copy TAO instead of DAO and although they don't insert the infamous 2 second gaps they still have audible gaps between the songs. Considering that I assume they would have had one large file which they would have split into tracks, how these gaps go there is quite bizarre, as apart from in the encore ive gathered that no actual time from the gigs has been cut which would otherwise explain the gaps. I guess they must have used a crap software program to edit the shows. |

My order "shipped" almost two fecking months ago and still I've got nothin'.
I sent DiscLive an e-mail a few days ago but I haven't gotten a reply yet. (Anybody know how long it usually takes for a response? I thought they got rid of their backlog early this week.)

Sadly, nothing to report here. (Am I the only person left who hasn't received anything?)
I sure hope that they have their shipping problems resolved by the time they start sending out the Brixton shows. (Maybe I'll end up receiving that one before my Winnipeg pair shows up! =)

Posted - 06/14/2004 : 18:31:59 Ok, I was hoping to make a triumphant post today about getting my cds. You see I got one Cd; saskatoon on Friday and figured since they "were all shipped" that the others would arrive today. But of course no. What is weird too is the only single order I made was Coachella but yet Sakatoon I get in a single envelope but I order saskatoon with like 4 other cds. I fucking hate disclive now. I'll buy the Cd's if I'm at the show but will never do mail order again. I want a refund.

If anyone has any ideas as to what else we can do (apart from just handing out money, which would put us out of business pretty quickly), seriously, let me know (jake at disclive dot com is my email address).
You could travel to Scotland and do a CD of the Pixies at T in the Park. It is their last date in Europe after all... (and nothing to do with the fact that it's one of the gigs I'm going to...!).
Or you could send us a complimentary slipcase for all 15 warm up albums? Or offer one at a reduced rate?
Personally, I don't think there's much else that disclive could do. I've been really impressed that we the customers are getting so much feedback about shipping dates, and being kept up to date with problems with packaging and shipping.
The only disclive thing I have a problem with is the Netburn service. DRM music is a bad thing in my opinion, and ultimately pointless - any audio can be re-encoded into a format that allows unlimited copying. It would be nice if the mp3s of the gigs were available for a limited time for people that have bought the albums. Pirates are going to pirate the stuff anyway - Digital Rights Management only penalises the people who buy the music.
I hope everyone else gets their order soon! |

Posted - 06/10/2004 : 09:31:24 No Winnipeg CDs here in Ottawa!
I'm still hopeful that they'll eventually find their way into my hands at some point but I most certainly agree that it has been quite a long while since I've been "excited" about receiving them.
Instead, it's become more and more like something I'm just waiting to get over with so I can get it off my mind (even though I'm sure I will still be very happy to have a souvenir from the show I attended).
I'm probably far more concerned about the reports of exceptionally poor packaging than the shipping delays we've experienced -- I'd rather receive my CDs late than damaged!
(Let's just hope that they're not late *and* damaged! =) |

Posted - 06/10/2004 : 08:30:51 Still no cds. I don't even care about them anymore really. I bought them all on an impulse and am now just sick of dealing with this. What bugs me the most is that the story of why we're waiting so long keeps changing. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday before I can get anything done about this though. Has anyone else who posted originally that they hadn't received their order finally gotten it?

I'm still waiting for mine, hopefully when I get home tonight they'll be there.
The 9 shows all came in a single bubble mailer, i expected the worst when i opened it but i was nicesly surprised, all packaging was in perfect condition and every single disc was in place, 18 discs and not a broken bit of plastic in sight, i'm well chuffed with what i've got but i can see why others are concerned, maybe i was licky...
I still don't understand how they've sorted my order as i bought them cronologically (bar minneapolis and indio, i got the separately) and i'm still missing 04/14, 04/15, 04/17 and 04/28, who knows how they pack...
Thanks to Jake to for an update as to the current situation, i'm really looking forward to the Brixton shows... any insider info as to when the new US tour CD's will go on sale? ;-) |

Posted - 06/09/2004 : 09:55:45 It's Jake from DiscLive. I just got back from the shows in London which were amazing.... I know this will sound like B.S. since it's the only one still for sale, but Friday night's show was, of the 19 Pixies shows I've seen so far, by far and away the best. I've listened to it myself about five times already.
Here is where we are with the warm-up tour shipping: All of the products (except some Eugene shows where we needed to wait for DigiPaks to replace a damaged case) left our office by 5/17. Out of the 10,000 units we shipped we now estimate to have about 300 customers who have not gotten their product(s). I know it is of no consolation to those affected, but a number of things conspired to make this a real problem.
Any domestic orders that have no been received by now we can track to the local post office, and will do so for you.
The company handling our international shipping (customs etc. issues) has now informed us that our 5/17 shipment was held up at JFK for several days and that as a result some units could still be in transit. We have also begun to get isolated reports (isolated reports -- I sound like a weatherman!) of shipments arriving, so that is certainly good news. I would bet that of the remaining issues, almost all of them will be solved within the next few days as these shipments finally arrive at everyone's doorsteps. The company we worked with says that Monday is the day we should wait until before we start to try international traces, which is more complex and takes more time. We are clearing out all the unanswered customer service tickets this week/weekend and going forward will respond very promptly. Please give us time to get through the current batch of open tickets, and if you've submitted one, it hasn't gotten lost and we will get back to you ... there is no need to open another ticket.
Here's the important part: Anyone whose shipment has, in the end, gotten lost will have the option of getting a full credit or have replacement product sent via registered mail. We need to clear out all of our outstanding issues and get a sort of clean slate to understand who this will be, so please stand by for details on how we will accomplish this once we've been able to get a handle of what problems still really remain.
If anyone has any ideas as to what else we can do (apart from just handing out money, which would put us out of business pretty quickly), seriously, let me know (jake at disclive dot com is my email address).
Anyone who ordered the Brixton shows shuld know that ALL units on this will go out on the same day, Monday 6/21. We are using a totally streamlined process for this, so none of these problems should happen. Brixton products (and everything moving forward) will be well packaged and will arrive promptly.
I can't tell you how sorry I am that some of you have had to wait so long for your discs. Best
Jake |

Posted - 06/09/2004 : 03:18:20 Hello. This is my first post on this topic.
