On top of everything working out great that night, I'm pretty sure i never even payed for my copy of that show...I payed with debit, but I never entered a password, they just took my debit card, swiped it, and handed me a CD...Is that even possible?

Aww, that's no fair! It's not so bad here....

But I dgress, the show was awesome, I cna't beleive it's been that long already! I hope I can get a chance to see Fb live again....twice so far! (once in Winnipeg and one with the Catholics at the Horseshoe in Toronto, I think that was in 2002)

And yes, pressing CD's right after the show was a stoke of genius, I didn';t even mind the wait!

If you're getting cotton mouth, my mind is like an ocean...

Thanks old man!

I did get a single ticket for the later announced
Minneapolis show via a heads-up from this forum!

I couldn't get a one for Winnipeg, there were people from
all over the world snapping up tickets.

I suppose the 100+ people at the Ticketmaster booth at the
Casino assumed as I did that tickets would be available
for those of us in line.

Only the first two people got tickets in the 40 seconds
they were for sale. One disappointed fan ahead of me
punched the wall, there would have been a riot if someone
had said that word.

I suppose that was a scene repeated several times in the city!
I suspect the Pixies could have sold-out any venue short of the
stadium.

Indeed.

Did you end up going? That Mike fella sent me the cd set of the gig, which was very cool in a nostalgic sort of way on a few levels.

Btw - congrats on surviving another year man.

Dear lord, 5 years ago....!!? what?
That was an amazing evening, too bad my camera jammed and ruined all the pictures...that pusshed me over the edge as made me go digital.

One carton of cigarettes smoked by Thunder Bay.

3 years tomorrow!!!
I flew from Tampa, Florida to Winnipeg just to see this, the 'second show.' It's my 2nd favorite Pixies show of all-time--gotta say that the best ever was still the little nightclub I saw them in in Tampa in 92--with the ten dollar tickets the night before the Zoo TV thing kicked off. The Rock-It Club on Dale Mabry. There was so much weird tenision and energy between them that night it was just crazy.
Winnipeg didn't make it into LOUDQUIETLOUD, did it???? Too bad.
jackanapes Posted - 04/21/2004 : 19:54:41
It would be legal if they were real. 15 bucks is half the price they cost. Something seems a bit sketchy.
mule Posted - 04/21/2004 : 19:52:24
Strange, some guy on ebay (uriahxheep) is selling copies of the Disclive Winnipeg, MB cd for $15. each. Is this legal?
andrescolombia Posted - 04/21/2004 : 07:43:37
I just got the MP3s from the Winny show... wow!!!! what a show!!!! Thanks Manny,

Did you get my picture of Douche? He really wanted to be photographed. BTW I'm all up in that.
mattb Posted - 04/20/2004 : 19:55:48
lol, I actually didn't do that because of Dean. I remember he didn't really want to be photographed because I was putting the pictures on line so it got me thinking that some people might not want to be identified. If people are up for it though then I can do that.

Okay, now your whole site in down. I think I personally crashed it. And I'm not going to apologize for it.
speedy_m Posted - 04/20/2004 : 19:50:49
I saw some of 'em! And then the site went down. That was a mighty good time, though. You should make one with little arrows pointing to who everyone is. I'm sure Dean will agree with me on that....
mattb Posted - 04/20/2004 : 19:31:46
Wow, people really want to see these pictures. My transfer limit has been exceeded for the first time ever.

Fuck, geocities sucks so bad. It takes forever to uplod files and it keeps crashing. I've been seriously trying to put them up over the last 3 hours. I think I'll only be able to put up the King's Head ones tonight. I'm thinking of paying the $5 for the 25 megs of space and the ability to ftp. Is that a good price or are they just ripping off people like me who don't know better?

Hey mattb,

Let us know when the picture link is working. I'm dying to see those.

Passion,

There are some of us 'peggers who strongly believe that public urination should be an Olympic sport, I'm not sure what your problem with it is...

I kid! I kid because I love! And because that doesn't include me! Of course, I could a be a "post show internet geek". What an honour....

Are they there yet?

I knew I shouldn't have put the link up and tease people. I started building yesterday but didn't have time to finish. Tons of stuff has been scanned and I should be able to put some stuff up today.

"before the show internet geeks" LMAO, I think I'll change the link name to that.

I guess if I went clubbin' at Daddy Rocks every weekender, then maybe I would see worse.
roomloo Posted - 04/20/2004 : 15:42:39
It's got to depend on where in downtown Minneapolis you're talking. If we're talking Nicollet Mall, then of course not (well, change that to "probably not"). If you're talking the deep bowels of the warehouse district -- which incidentally is in the area of the Fine Line -- then while I admittedly haven't seen it, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked.
The Passion Of El Diablo Posted - 04/20/2004 : 15:21:43
I don't remember the color, idiot. I remember the guy urinating on it. In any case, if you saw a guy urinating on any minivan, I'm pretty sure it was the same incident I saw. Or are you just being a little Smart Alec?
ShaunWestphal Posted - 04/20/2004 : 15:09:53
Passion,
Was it a blue minivan? Probably like a Dodge Caravan or something?

Wherever Passion goes, I will follow...
The Passion Of El Diablo Posted - 04/20/2004 : 15:05:42
ShaunWestphal,
Were you in Downtown Winny at the same time I was? Did we see the same guy publicly urinating? [The guy I saw urinated on a minivan.] Were you following me around on foot, too?

Unfortunately, the middle of April is the worst time to get a first impression of Winnipeg. They put so much sand on the streets in the winter to keep the cars from sliding all over the place, that when the snow melts the city looks like a giant litter box. They have just started to clean the streets this week, and things are already looking much better. If you ever have the opportunity to be here in June, July, or August, you would get a much different impression.

I'm heading to Minneapolis for the November show, and I know that the last time I was there, which was 1989, the downtown area left much to be desired. I've been told that this has changed. I guess I'll see for myself.

From what I know about downtown Mpls in 89 (I was 11 at the time), I'm sure you'll find it WAY better now. Not that there aren't shitty parts of town, but downtown is pretty decent. And yeah, in 6 years of spending a lot of time in downtown Mpls, last Wed in Winnipeg was the first time I've ever seen anyone piss on a street corner in broad daylight.

Wherever Passion goes, I will follow...
The Passion Of El Diablo Posted - 04/20/2004 : 14:58:15
Cult,
I was in Downtown Winny for two hours before the show, and I saw it happen. I've been in Downtown Minny every day for the last ten years, and I've never seen anything like it.
roomloo Posted - 04/20/2004 : 14:57:44
Or maybe that was 4th. Or both.
