hello i'm french and this is my first message on this forum.
Don't know if you have already mentioned it, but Frank Black has officially declared in the french magazine Rock'n'folk (during the Pixies french summer tour a few weeks ago) that a new Pixies album was in project.

a new breeders alb would be cool i think kelley and kim have been working on it since the 2004 tour b/c they had them recording some of it in the movie |

yeah there is a new breeders cd in the works and id really love to hear something new about it already and frank black is always making new cds so thats no big deal.

Old news it seems and in this case a bit of a misunderstanding. They're going to give it a try, not necessarily recording one, but playing with some songs.

OK, so here it is. The paper is in french, so i'll try to translate it well.
Q. : still no new songs on this tour ?
FB : no (big silence). It's a huge debate in the band. If it had to be new songs on the tour, that would mean a new record too, that's logical.
Q. : but you have new songs that are ready yet ?
FB : oh yes. You know... Yesterday we were in Switzerland. Everyone knows that Geneva is a place where people come from all over the world to have discussions about peace. Yesterday we spent a long time of the night talking with Kim, in a hotel in Geneva, and, well, as they say in official terms, we came to a bilateral agreement.
Q. : so the Pixies are going to record a new album ?
FB : you're the first to hear of it. |

"sub-standard" ? What does this mean ?
In the interview Frank Black was explicit about the fact that himself and Kim Deal had reached to some kind of mutual agreement about making a new album. He added that the french magazine was the first to be told about that, for he had just made his decision two days before, in Switzerland. |
