I have heard from inside promoter source that Pixies will be playing this August in Dublin... Source very accurate... and it will be there own gig instead of supporting, as they did with the RHCP last summer...

Otherfellers Posted - 08/22/2005 : 09:21:53
right, everyone i know who swore they'd go at the beginning of the summer has mitched off. i'm gonna email the other lads who seem to be in the same boat and we can all get good and pissed before hand.

which one of you strangers has the candy?
bazza Posted - 08/22/2005 : 02:21:52
the excitement of the gig tomorrow is keeping me alive at the moment, considering its my first day back in work after my holidays. ill try and make humanzi - they should be great if what you read in the press is true.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
Carl Posted - 08/20/2005 : 06:33:27
Yeah, you got the inside info, chineselover! See you on Tuesday, hopefully!
chineselover Posted - 08/18/2005 : 17:17:22
oh, just wanted to add 'I told you so...' to this thread!!!
Carl Posted - 08/18/2005 : 11:44:18
Apparently, you can win tickets to the gig here, although you have to subscribe;

i dunno atually iv never been to lansdown.but i reckon u have a good chance its a big place .and i got my 10 year old bro into a metallica gig wen i was 16

je suis un revoultionaire
funtime_frank Posted - 05/25/2005 : 08:20:38
Hey, I know i posted this on the Pixies Live section aswell buts its fairly slow moving compared to this. Since most of the peopel in this topic are irish, how strict are the security at Landsdowne? I'm going with some friends to the gig but im under 16. Both me and my friends will be either 15 or 16 in a couple of months when it happens but do you think theres a chance of me not getting in, or will they give me the benifit of the doubt?

It's [still] educational!
bazza Posted - 05/25/2005 : 06:17:49
Barra drop me an email will you? cant find yer mobile number anywhere. cheers

I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Ha ha, actually I like it, thats what you can call me from now on ;). My ticket was delivered today, have it stuck up on my wall beside my computer. Yes, boozing is great.

Only messing Drew.

Two problems with the bag:

1. If it bursts - you're in the shit, (and the guy to your left).
2. If you overinflate the bag with farts - you can end up floating about above the stage and the whole thing starts to look like a Pink Floyd concert.

Just shit before you go and piss where you stand.

I'm gonna ask them to convert my posh seat into a commode.

Looking forward to boozing with you all.

Don't tell me you don't recognize me Mike!!!! If I pile on the pounds and am still living with my parents aged 40, I might start to look like Drew. I'm taking a tip from a recent thread and having a colostomy bag installed, but I've heard good things about Lansdown, no half hour trips to the jacks or €5 pints.

Old Neptuna Posted - 05/23/2005 : 11:50:04
About the seated thing - I will stand until Frank indicates to sit!

Ha ha, hopefully I'll be able to find you this time Bazza , Darragh, give me or Bazza an e-mail if you want to meet up, I was stuck for the Chatholics with none of my 'so called' friends bothering to go, it was definitly their loose. Bazza was my rent a freind for the night, lovely guy, considering the Tourettes and facial ticks .

Hee hee, ordered mine the other day, can't wait. The line up convinced more of my freinds to go this time, a much better mix of bands then last year.

Her prediction is that it will sell out eventually. Lansdown road holds over 40,000 people so its a risk thats maybe worth taking. Hope that helps.

Thanks Bazza. Reckon I can leave it a couple of weeks and see whats happens on the US tour.

Can I still get a standing ticket?
bazza Posted - 05/17/2005 : 09:07:26
According to the lovely lady working in ticketmaster in UCD the show is selling fairly well at the moment, although is nowhere close to being sold out due to some pretty crappy advertising (or lack of). Her prediction is that it will sell out eventually. Lansdown road holds over 40,000 people so its a risk thats maybe worth taking. Hope that helps.

Does anybody have a feeling if this show will sell out? I am waiting for the tour to begin to check out the set list before deciding to make the trip over from the UK.
bazza Posted - 05/17/2005 : 06:29:13
got my standing ticket today - happy days

I posted this somewhere else by mistake so just for the sake of completeness

Here's something on Humanzi: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2091-1582680,00.html
Doesn't bode well.
A friend saw Teenage Fanclub recently and said they were great.

Mike Watt signed my cd player last week

Really? Will be interesting to see Teenage Fanclub. This show is turning out to better value for money!
darragh Posted - 05/13/2005 : 12:08:15
I see Teenage Fanclub and Humanzi have been added.
Who the fuck are Humanzi?
therewererumours Posted - 05/12/2005 : 10:57:27
Ha ha, I'd recommend some carrot cake with the coffee Carl, it's delish! I know what your saying about the promotion Bazza, I havn't seen any of the ads, though my sister and mother have, humm, must be some sort of female intuition?

Carl Posted - 05/11/2005 : 16:44:49
Maybe we can invite Pixies down to Bewley's for a nice coffee. We'll even pay! ;)

I need to know as well, getting my tickets tomorrow, Bazza, whats the story? Are you getting pitch or seated tickets. Old Neptuna I'm still in to minds about where to go, how'd you come to seated tix? Count me in for Bewleys.

Hey Barra - will be getting a standing ticket this week - waiting to get some funds to get a ticket, but cant see it selling out too soon as the advertising has been pretty awful to be honest.

As for selling the knock ornaments - dont do it man! dont take drastic steps!!
