Here's a game I used to play on another board. Basically, you have to tell me the song title and performer of the track from which the following lyrics are taken:

"Here she comes/you better watch you're step/she's gonna break your heart in too/yes its true."

The first person to give the correct answer (as ratified by me!) gets to set the next teaser and ratify that answer, and so on and so forth.

"I have joined the Cult Of Frank/And I have dearly paid"

"Walkin' down the sunny street to the library
Checkin' out the latest books about outer space
She stops at the fruit stand
And buys a dozen oranges
Then she and the books and the oranges
Go back to her place"

Right, ressurecto time.

From whence cometh the line:

"a strange Cole Porter phrase"

I'm like a lost snail in the night.

The Incredible Pogues.I think the first line is the name of the song, don't know the album. I should buy their complete discography but it's not in the budget.

Fine then, don't. He said, cleverly resurrecting his thread.

"One summer evening, drunk to hell,
I lay there nearly lifeless;
And the old man in the corner sang,
Where the waterlilies grow..."

Thats either a really silly name for a thread, or no-ones gonna get it.
So I'm nicking your go, innit.

That song is from Vulvaland, shineoftheever. It is Mouse on Mars, and the title is ??????

I keep feeling like people are just looking at screens and web sites all the time, but do they ever do anything? Or go out and say anything to anyone? I'm not so sure anymore.
shineoftheever Posted - 05/18/2004 : 17:12:13
I'm gonna guess it's 'die seele von brian wilson', because that other thread maybe put it in your head. why are germans singing in english anyways?

Stay tuned for signature change at 400 posts.

Come on, something on Mars?

It's our tradition to control, Like Erich Honecker and Helmut Kohl, From the Ukraine to the Rhône. Sweet home über alles, Lord, I'm coming home. So come on, Sugar Daddy, bring me home.

Hmm, well I'm stumped.

I wasn't answering you fool, I was just insinuating that maybe you were a woman, which I think is fair enough.

Is it something something from Mars...?

Wrong answer Cheesus!

More help : they're from Cologne, they released an album called Vulvaland (but these songs aren't on that one) and their name is made of 3 words. The last two words are also the last two words of a Bowie's (or should I say Showie's) classic. The first word is something your right hand often plays with!

No I didn't, I like Lou Reed!

OK some help : German experimental electronica, here are the lyrics of another song from the same album :

And the ship up there that wants to leave
Filled up to the brim with children
Hangs a little while, but the string
Is wearing-- silently

Lou Reed - Romeo had Juliet

Easy, this one.

OK, my turn :

Which qualities does the one have?
- the one that is itself and remains.
- the one that is different from all others and remains one.
- the one that if it is seen with others it is in the position to become more than one.

Shouldn't be too hard......

Romeo Rodriguez squares his shoulders and curses "Jesus"
Runs a comb through his black pony tail
He's thinking of his lonely room
The sink by the bed gives off a stink
Then smells her perfume in his eyes
And her voice was like a bell
Outside the streets were steaming the crack dealers were dreaming
Of an Uzi someone had just scored

Hey Alicia, 'sbeen a while. Homer will be glad to see you back, he has a bit of a thing for you ya know.
Anyway, cowbell.

Northern Irish band, good during the nineties, not great now. First coupla records on Touch & Go. Do excellent covers of Joy Division's 'Isolation' and Husker Du's 'Diane'.

Give me a reason to live,

It was a tuesday morn in November
I slept at your house the night before
We couldn't wait to get up to go for
A big breakfast in an old fashioned diner
A full meal six coffee refills later
We both have to be at work in an hour
Let's call in sick I suggest to her
I'll call your boss and tell her that you're under
The weather, you'll call mine, you will tell her
That i'm very sick and that
You're my mother

Nibble's...chew through my ballsac.
