Posted - 08/29/2006 : 00:53:56 Disc 1 Survivor saw the victory of If Your Poison Gets You, followed closely by Johnny Barleycorn. Disc 2 is full of excellent songs so we can expect a fun game. For the record, tracklisting is as follows:
01 In The Time Of My Ruin 02 Down To You 03 Highway To Lowdown 04 Kiss My Ring 05 My Terrible Ways 06 Fitzgerald 07 Elijah 08 It's Just Not Your Moment 09 The Real El Rey 10 Where The Wind Is Going 11 Holland Town 12 Sad Old World 13 Don't Cry That Way 14 Fare Thee Well
As said previously, I'll try to make the rounds shorter this time (no more than 4 or 5 days). Go ahead and vote off your least favorite.

Posted - 09/01/2006 : 11:28:26 listened to disc 2 last night to figure out how my votes would fall, and i'd like to rescind my "cheesy" comment from 3 posts ago. still, would be happy to see it go next... |

Posted - 09/01/2006 : 02:05:13 Seems we're stuck in this round, so I'll change my vote from Down to You to Holland Town. That was my initial choice anyway, and I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned once in this game. So that kills Kiss My Ring and the ruond is now closed.

I might be too late (and I haven't counted, so this might not help with the tie...) but the choice for me is easy

Have you heard the live solo version? That's where its true beauty lies. I can't even listen to the album track, I'm gonna burn a copy with a live version instead.

I'll vote for Kiss My Ring, winning by a nose over the cover song which I like but I don't like the version on the album so much. |

Sometimes perhaps, but the vocal on this track doesn't carry them too gracefully. I like his tragicomical delivery of My Terrible Ways. Kiss My Ring is just funny. If Don't Cry That Way gets voted off first I will.)
I like Down To You, actually. The chorus certainly reminds me of Dylan, and I love the intro/verse. My Terrible Ways is another favorite, and Don't Cry That Way is beautiful. Kiss My Ring is one of the tracks that just won't lodge itself in my brain!

Posted - 08/29/2006 : 14:42:51 I've been listening exclusively to Disc 2 this afternoon and I have to say it's not an easy choice. A lot of the songs have cool elements and parts I really dislike. I like It's Just Not Your Moment a lot in the verses but the choruses really hurt, for example.
My vote's for Down to You. There's nothing in the song that really bothers me, except maybe some of the "You-ou"'s sound offkey, but it's also got nothing I really like. I won't miss this one.

pfft, are you still holding the Eagles against me? Next you'll be telling me you don't like Free. Good choice though, a rare moment of sanity.

What about "Alcohol and speed were friends"? And yet nobody has voted against Holland Town. I like Kiss My Ring, the chord progression is nice.
