I know, we all love Pixies. But nobody's perfect.
there are always a music that is not so good, that is out of place.

Which is that song that could be banned from an album?

For me it could be Stormy weather. Is not a totally bad song, but kind of spoil the end os bossanova.
and I don´t like space ( I believe in)

i thought it was a cover at first.

You're the bees knees but so am I.

I always thought "Make Believe" didn’t sound like a Pixies track, even a B-Side, and I’m not saying that because of David’s singing.
Generally speaking, B-Sides from Bossanova’s singles are amongst the weakest tracks of the group (except "Santo" of course).

The only Pixies album I still enjoy is Trompe le Monde. I tend to think it's actually the first Black Francis solo album.

an undisclosed number of visitors can't be wrong

Since we're talking about the songs we like and we dislike, I found this nice website, perhaps some of you know it:

Sorry if this link have been already given here

I am going to have to go with Tony also; it doesn't help that I got my but kicked by an older kid in grade school who was named Tony.

Another song I've just thought of that doesn't really do it for me is 'Make Believe'. I'm just not too keen on Dave singing.

Agreed on "Silver." Couldn't disagree more, though, on "Stormy Weather," especially played live. I never want that song to end when I have it on.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
uriah hit the crapper Posted - 08/30/2007 : 08:16:54
Silver is the only song I don't like by them because for me I find that song dreary and uninventive. I'm not that keen on Stormy Weather either because I think its a bit of a throwaway. Apart from those two I feel Black Francis has written very few songs that can be justified as "fillers"
PistoLaura Posted - 08/27/2007 : 18:40:26
I (mikaelp75 hijacking Lauras computer) have never liked Palace Of The Brine, Dig For Fire, Tony's Theme, Rock-A-My Soul or Build High. And I got tired of Vamos very quickly after instantly liking it.

ccuadros Posted - 08/27/2007 : 14:12:18
You´re going to kill me, but i don´t like too much debaser, altought I think it´s not a bad song. On the other hand, the weakest song of the pixies for me is sliver.

You must be kidding... aren't you???

To me the first half of the song is almost unlistenable. The vocals just get on my nerves. It's like he's just screaming for the sake of it, and not because it actually adds anything to the song. The second half is beautiful though.

"The arc of triumph"

agree!! second half is nice, first half a little ridicolous but kind of funny if you think about it

Back to the topic : I often skip "Lovely Day", to me it's the weakest track on "Trompe Le Monde"
pixiestu Posted - 08/27/2007 : 09:20:09
Old topic, but anyway, I've got a couple that are sort of equal at the bottom of my favourites list.

Distance Equals Rate Times Time
Space (I Believe In)
Theme From Narc

I would have liked to answer "Bam Thwok", because it's the "reunion song", but really, I HATE "Dig For Fire", I hate everything on that one, the tune, Charles singing... EVERYTHING!!!
Francis Six Posted - 06/14/2004 : 22:30:12
i bet bam thwok is frank blacks least favorite song because he cant hog the spotlight with kim deal singing

I didn't know there was a worst Pixies song.... hrmmm...

"Everything is far away. Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy..."
TheFifthPope Posted - 06/14/2004 : 14:40:18
Umm...first of all, I love The Navajo Know...Havalina is one of my favorite songs ever by anyone, and Stormy Weather is a great introduction to it. Actually there seems to be a lot of hate in general for Bossanova, which is my favorite album...I guess you guys just aren't into surf music?
Ironically, however, my least favorite Pixies song is Down to the Well (with Debaser close to that...yea, I said it).

crackity jones just cannot get into it at all.

can't get into anything these days. Always on the peripheral. Always terrified, exhausted, annoyed, pissed, anxious, out of it-out of the loop, out of my mind, out of time.

You're really insane. This song is great. Maybe "Here comes your man" can have been sold out to the popular market, at least, that song is gereat too!!!!

I still can't see how people can not like Planet of Sound. I always considered it to be one of the greatest Pixies songs, a classis, if you will.

I think the spoken intro to "Tony's Theme" is probably the best part, actually.
