Posted - 03/17/2004 : 15:37:21 I know, we all love Pixies. But nobody's perfect. there are always a music that is not so good, that is out of place.
Which is that song that could be banned from an album?
For me it could be Stormy weather. Is not a totally bad song, but kind of spoil the end os bossanova. and I don´t like space ( I believe in) |

Posted - 10/29/2007 : 01:34:43 I always thought "Make Believe" didn’t sound like a Pixies track, even a B-Side, and I’m not saying that because of David’s singing. Generally speaking, B-Sides from Bossanova’s singles are amongst the weakest tracks of the group (except "Santo" of course). |

Posted - 08/30/2007 : 08:47:02 Agreed on "Silver." Couldn't disagree more, though, on "Stormy Weather," especially played live. I never want that song to end when I have it on.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Posted - 08/30/2007 : 08:16:54 Silver is the only song I don't like by them because for me I find that song dreary and uninventive. I'm not that keen on Stormy Weather either because I think its a bit of a throwaway. Apart from those two I feel Black Francis has written very few songs that can be justified as "fillers" |

Posted - 08/27/2007 : 18:40:26 I (mikaelp75 hijacking Lauras computer) have never liked Palace Of The Brine, Dig For Fire, Tony's Theme, Rock-A-My Soul or Build High. And I got tired of Vamos very quickly after instantly liking it.

You must be kidding... aren't you???
To me the first half of the song is almost unlistenable. The vocals just get on my nerves. It's like he's just screaming for the sake of it, and not because it actually adds anything to the song. The second half is beautiful though.
"The arc of triumph"
agree!! second half is nice, first half a little ridicolous but kind of funny if you think about it

Posted - 06/14/2004 : 14:40:18 Umm...first of all, I love The Navajo Know...Havalina is one of my favorite songs ever by anyone, and Stormy Weather is a great introduction to it. Actually there seems to be a lot of hate in general for Bossanova, which is my favorite album...I guess you guys just aren't into surf music? Ironically, however, my least favorite Pixies song is Down to the Well (with Debaser close to that...yea, I said it). |
