Posted - 02/28/2004 : 14:49:23 To anyone who is a little agreived at the few shows you americans have got on this tour, don't be. They are English anyway so we deserve them so much more. If ever you think oh thats lame that the English get it first or whatever (in regards to the pixies) don't. You are paying for not getting it first time round. They shouldn't even tour America, as a punishment for being so dumb 15 years ago.
Reasons: They had a number of UK top 10 album entrys. Gouge appears to be almost entirely based around Britain. The DVD performance is in England

Posted - 01/09/2005 : 09:22:28 i tihnk you dont like english people very much my post-starter...the pixies were not dumb 15 years ago, they were very clever....i supose your refering to them breaking up...well, a much as we'de like to think it would have worked out, being realistic will tell you that they made the right desision....they'd said all they had to say and ranged alot in their music, there simply wsnt room for such genious anymore....but back to the point; the pixies are not english, they are american...but are you sugesting an american band must stricktly record all their cds in america? sounds a bit of a dim sugestion to make.... the pixies mainly played alot in england because the pixies went down well in england not for any other reason....the americans were simply to mixed up with their heavy metal bands and the english press was welcolming and the fans could adjust to the new style easily....
so, anyhow, the pixies will have a good reason for not concentrating the bulk of their time in america...maybe for old times sake....playing where theyve played before...where they will be remembered by the slightly older generation

Posted - 03/06/2004 : 01:09:23 maloxx, england sucks, its expensive, ugly, rainy, unfriendly, and we kicked your ass in there revolution that made our country. england is judgemental and taxes too much. france sucks too, they would speaking german if not for america, and they are also unfriendly. frank might like to visit france and speak a few words in french, but he would probably never stay there for more than a couple of days. case in point - How many france show will he play? 2,3,4?
every good musician from england eventually moved to america - no one would ever move to england except from third world countries. the only other reason why people fly to england is to transfer to another country.
england had great music (maybe the best) - '60-'85. Its over now. Pixies were part of the new groups who made english music (post '85) practically irrelevant.
Pixies are based around the truest american city, boston. they would play here for free if it was feasible.
oh, and after they play in their mother country asshole england for 4 or 5 shows, the pixies will hit the north american tour for a magnitude more shows. that means they'll play ten times more shows in the US, maloxx. fuck brixton, I'm talking the avalon, middle east, paradise, and other great american venues. they will play as many shows in boston as they play in your whole wretched country. you wouldn't know about those places, maloxx, because you are british and convinced that the world still revolves around gross england. mind the gap man, and remember, those places and the fans who saw them there in the 80's welcomed the pixies well before queen bitch england did. you think americans don't appreciate them, but you wouldn't know them at all if their own countrymen and women didn't support them in the beginning. |

There can be any numbers of reasons why I registered/re-registered on the 3rd of February. I also tend to spend a lot of my time offline - enjoying life... going to gigs and the like!!! Yes, I understand your post was tongue in cheek. It was very humorous. I am also glad that you are not surprised that I have just posted in the Pixies section. The reason I am glad is that I have got so many emails form forum members remarking how odd it is! Yes, I have had many such emails. Also I’m delighted that a person's genius rating is calculated in the way you describe! Interesting concept. Anyway I hope the matter is cleared up now – it genuinely was a very witty post which I’m sure brought a lot of enjoyment to many. Unfortunately I will not be able to make any more contributions to this thread. I hope this won’t be misconstrued as basically saying that I am having the last word and no further posts, no matter what their content, by anyone can prompt me to contribute further on the subject, as this would be completely untrue. Finally thanks to everyone who made this thread possible.

I don't even need to defend that it was a joke, its so blatant. To the untrained eye it would appear, I actually believe they are English.
