I think someone mentioned this song in a previous post. If you got a sense of humor check out this here below more Pixies-ized cover:
The Blankket's cover http://www.frampton.plus.com/the_blankket_-_hey_ya.mp3
The original version is being hailed by Radiohead's Thom Yorke as single of the year. Personally, to me the first 2 minutes or so of it ain't so bad. |

Posted - 03/11/2004 : 10:10:03 I actually figured out a chord progression for this on guitar, but I can't recall it right now. It probably was'nt in the right key. It'd be cool song for a guitar-cover!

Posted - 01/27/2004 : 15:12:30 ya i think its only somewhat good and very popular is because theirs a melody in it which doent make u wanna take your radio out and smash it into a million pieces, hip hops just not my cup of tea, too repetative. |

Posted - 01/27/2004 : 07:47:08 i think the very simple chord progression makes this a good one for me. G, C, D, E all the way through and it still sounds cool.

Posted - 01/27/2004 : 06:51:37 I really don't understand what makes THIS song so great. Seems like every other dance number to me... fun (and definitely booty shaking, if not head-cramming) but not interesting. Might as well play Sandstorm right after it in my opinion.

Posted - 01/26/2004 : 18:40:45 There's a non-standard rhythm thing throughout the song that's kinda Pixies-esque. But it's been done before in hip-hop many, many times. That's the only similarity I recognize. |

Except for on here. Everyone here seems to like it. And so they should. |

Posted - 01/25/2004 : 17:08:00 I'm still not tired of "Hey Ya". "Dracula's Wedding" is great but I usually skip once she starts reciting the wedding verses. |

Posted - 01/25/2004 : 13:23:15 Ergh, "Dracula's WEdding" bores me. I'm big into "Spread" and "Ghetto Musick". Anywho, that song doesn't really sound anything like a pixies version of "Hey Ya". i like the bad bass sound, tho. |

It goes from point A to point B And in between you shake your booty

Posted - 01/25/2004 : 10:53:56 It's an interesting song, definitely catchy and good to hear from a hip hop group, but it got old for me pretty quickly...it doesn't really go anywhere. Dracula's Wedding is cooler.
