I thought it best to start a new topic to discuss the film, as the "Pixies doc to premiere at SXSW" is kinda full of reviews and all that.
Well, i watched it last night and it is pretty weird and some bits very uncomfortable to watch. David's 'breakdown' was particularly horrible, as he seemed to come across as the cheeriest pixie (he at least tried speaking to the others...) Although there is a bit when all the pixies are in a car talking to david which is pretty nice and they really, despite not talking to each other much, seemed like a band who care about each other (I won't go into more details and ruin it for those not fortunate to have watched it yet)
Kim seemed alright, but perhaps a bit over-reliant on kelley, but i guess she is battling alcohol and drugs and all that, so needs support (best line in the film kim: "yeah it is a beer, but it is only 5%" kelley: "ALL beer is 5% kim" ..... something like that anyway)
Charles was funny, clearly playing up to the camera "i am cute etc etc"
Joey had a hard time, it was difficult to watch him talk to his daughter on her birthday via webcam, and struggle with the soundtrack thing
the extras are pretty good, although there isn't as many as i would have liked, and the concert footage was pretty decent as well- although focussed on members of the crowd who seemed well aware that the cameras were on them "oooh look a cam pointing at me- best start head banging and doing devil horns/METAAAAAAL hand sign thing"
