it was my birthday yesterday and i found that my brother had gone and bouhht me the book entitles "GIGANTIC: the story of frank black and the pixies"
when i saw it (although i showed great delight) i was slightly dubious of its contents, having heard rumours about it being a strictly anti-pixies book, writen for provocation.
and admitedly thats how i started reading the book..but im half way through now and i have to say it makes a terrific read! ive been spellbound to the pages for ages now...and im stil as in love with the pixies as ever.
i was just wondering if anyone else had read the book, and what hey thought of it (without giving away the ending!; i havent quite finished it yet)

I also received it as a birthday present, along with a book about Talking Heads. I read about a quarter of 'Gigantic' and could not continue. I thought it was (apologies but...) Frankly awful.

Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa: The Adventures of Talking Heads in the 20th Century, on the other hand, is a fantastic read.

Funnily enough, a lot of Talking Heads fans aren't very impressed with that book either! And the band hate it.

I've read it; it's quite entertaining. Not sure whether I believe all of it, mind.

I got about a quarter through as well, the pixies and frank black deserve better, if you are going to tell their story, at least do your research.
