The forum is running very slowly for me and sometimes the pages will just freeze for a few seconds. I am noticing (in IE7) that in the bottom left of the screen it keeps loading stuff from http://www.flowaway.com/blog/default.asp, is this normal?
I tried to google flowaway.com and all it does is come up with a bunch of chinese pages that mean nothing to me.
I did a full virus/spyware scan to make sure it is not something on my pc and it came back all clear so i really am not sure what it up. Is there a chance that someone has messed with the forum for some reason?
Sorry if this is a false alarm but i figure it's better to post and be wrong than not post at all. |

When I again have stable internet I'll see what else I can do about getting rid of that. I think it's in the discopedia, too.

Been seeing that for a few months now myself. To deal with it, I always hit escape -- after the page I want comes up but before it jumps to the flowaway page.

Hmmm... will look at that and see what I can see... I think that you may have some sort of virus or spyware attempting something called an 'HTML insertion' attack, but could be something else. Grab AdAware and of course a good virus scanner like AVG and do a full system scan or three. But I'll look more into that specific error.

sorry about the duplicate post. i can't login to the fbforum on my home computer. i can read the message board but i can't post! it's like i've been banned!! fuck!
anyone have any suggestions? I can’t log into the forum on my home computer. (I’m using a different computer right now) I can access the site, and read posts, but can’t log in, so I can’t post! I get this error message when I first go to the site…..

I won't post that specific message for you, but I will edit the post, eliminating most of the data in it, including all ties to this forum, and of course, your picture. I think you're overreacting though; first, I know almost everyone on bf(yeah, you call your forum fb, we call ours bf), and have heard of no attacks against you. Second, there arent many there who favor the idea of taking down a community due to one person. I doubt it was due to that post.
I'll admit that it was I that did the detective work to try and track you down, and I feel bad having realized you are not a threat really, but you have to understand. That community is one that is hounded by constant internet watchdogs, legal entities, scammers, and random vigilantes. We need our paranoia.

We're not bad sorts, and I apologize this was the interaction you had to have with the bulking community.

All they would need to do is to use google to find any of the terms you used in your posting about them, such as the group's name and screen names. Several seem unique enough to be easy to track. And, then once they found the group they could your read your posting. It seems plausible to me. |
