Lately, I've been alternating between the chorus of Indie Cindy and the chorus of What Goes Boom.
pixiestu Posted - 09/23/2013 : 07:08:19
I have been listening to Pixies a lot in the car lately and the other night I gave the vocal performance of my life during the chorus of I've Been Tired. It was the closest to a Charles Thompson scream/sing/shout I've ever gotten. It sounded like his vocals on this version...especially the "reallly tired" bit at the end.

Also, I'm getting pretty good with my Bone Machine 'AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!'s after the chorus (I think that's the correct spelling).

how about, having intercourse with a hooker on a riverboat casino and realizing you don't have enough money to pay and being thrown overboard

I used to have a go at Bailey's Walk all the time. In fact I can be heard shouting the opening lyric in that video of BF being carted away by the Gardaí (police) after the Dublin precore.

Half Man. Have not listened to that song in awhile. Its not every day the denizens of Newark hear such greatness. Frank I mean, not me.

Maybe that's how he wrote it, didn't he just scream stuff into a bathroom mirror or something? I'm sure I saw that in an old interview once, not sure how true it is.

i'm good at that one too, because i often sing De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da by the Police

Any attempt to sing Tame in my house would probably result in the police showing up for suspected domestic violence.

I bet the chorus of Steak N Sabre is one that most of us try. I know I do, and again I get nowhere near it. Boy that Frank can sing!

I love to sing King and Queen of Siam - might be my fav to sing. I like to think I'm not far off given that I'm the vocalist for my band - but I'm sure it sucks ass.

Hey! That was a unique version. I like what you did going into the bridge...
Jason Posted - 04/17/2013 : 09:03:49
Hardest Frank song to sing (for me, at least): "Living on Soul". That bridge where Frank goes back-and-forth between high notes and lower notes is beyond me. It's a really cool part of the song, though.

I have a whole recording I did once upon a time of a friend playing FB on guitar and both of us singing along. When I put it into iTunes, I wrote "We'd Rather Not Say" in the artist field...

... that said, you've heard our cover of There Goes My Gun.

there's a lot of reverb on that record and you can only get near that performance if you too use it, but in absence of proper recording environment and equipment the best you can do to mimic that reverb is to use a large room with hard smooth surfaces, like marble or ceramic tile, like in a large (say public) lavatory. to enhance the effect it helps to bend over the sink and face into it, close your eyes and SING. it's best to wear the guitar strap a bit loose so that it's below the sink and not in the way.
with time it'll get a lot easier to ignore the sounds of other users flushing and the concern over their puzzled minds wondering whether you're serenading to sewer rats. and a chance recording by some of them could even start something new, go viral and stuff.
