Good to see they've kept Ana and Havalina in there :)

Totally unexpected!

I'd really love to hear some 2.0 songs when I see them live this summer.

Show was stopped because of some vocal problems! That's why!

ah, i got it wrong.
first show in tucson was 34 songs: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/2022/rialto-theatre-tucson-az-7389c229.html
second show in anaheim was only 22 songs (and some abandoned attempts), because of the vocal problems: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/2022/house-of-blues-anaheim-ca-7b89c280.html

it doesn't look like that has got anything to do with the song selection, though. (or what did you mean with "that's why!", billgoodman?)

What does Vocal Problems mean? Human problem or technology problem? Eventually only a hologram Frank could make it through a 1.0-heavy set list I imagine.

As to no 2.0 songs, I’m not sure what to think. My guess is most people going want to hear 1.0 stuff, and most people on this forum want to hear 2.0 stuff (and all the stuff in between the .0s)

No 2.0 is disappointing. That would actually keep me from buying a ticket. I've heard the classics a dozen times now live.

An official Facebook post said last night's show was cancelled due to an illness. I hope it's not COVID, and that they are all doing well. Either way, a reminder that the pandemic is not over and that everyone needs to take care of themselves and others.

it's a bit of an odd choice.

but then i remember when i last saw them live in 2019.
they played almost all of beneath the eyrie, but nothing of head carrier or indie cindy.
the only exception here was also the inclusion of "all the saints".

Yeah spot on. And it wasn't until 2005 that we even got Bossanova songs beyond Velouria, Blown Away and Is She Weird! Think Allison and Stormy Weather made their reunion debuts that year. Rock Music and Cecilia Ann didn't played until later on.

I'm looking forward to the Cardiff show. Would love to hear some of the BTE songs back in the set, since they came across so well.

yes, of course. :D fair enough.
but they completely abandoned IC and HC, except for all the saints.
maybe it's the same now, and they're just waiting for the right time to start introducing the new songs. (i think record labels often tell bands not to play too many news songs before the album's out, or before the first single is out, for example. not sure what they're actually achieving with that, but it happens.)

I was genuinely surprised to hear them introducing so many new songs months before BTE's release (and indeed prior to 'On Graveyard Hill' being announced). They sounded brilliant though.

Article on the show cut short by illness. Writer seems to have strong feelings about it.

And Denis, considering Pixies 1.0 - Pixies 2.0
I'm going to see them on august 11 (so I guess it's more like 3 months of touring in Europe)
and I would rather see them playing 2.0 than 1.0
If it has to be 1.0 then I'm hoping on Bossanova and Trompe

A lot of songs!

Just one from BTE, but the two new ones too, three from Bossanova-era and Three from Trompe.
Pluss All The Saints.

Not bad!

Yeah, for once we didn't have the totality of Doolittle played... Winterlong was a clear highlight and Havalina was superb too, don't know if these have been played recently?

Havalina was becoming a staple during the BTE tour, 's a great version with the extended outro.

They are asking about playing some odd songs in their Instagram Stories.

Would we like to hear Snakes, Andro Queen or Green and Blues?
Or Velouria, All I think about now and Moterway to Roswell?

Maybe we could all pick our favorites?

23 songs from COP through Doolittle is just too many, wish they'd build the setlist around what they've not been playing. There are only a handful of must-plays to keep the casual fans happy.
They can't know what works and doesn't work if they're not brave enough to experiment.

Asked the 'The Happening'.

I thought the balance of the sets in recent years (esp HC/BTE era) seemed like a really good mix of old and new.

I imagine the current run will head the same way once the festival shows are out of the way.

I've whined on twitter and Insta - never had a response! The one time they asked people to vote there was instant demand for Trompe and Bossa stuff and they played it then quietly dropped it all and brought back the early stuff.
