Got an order in, then went and watched it on youtube - crazy cool, I feel lucky to have been online last night and noticed it was up for sale. Something tells me these won't last much longer...

Ordered it last night, order no. 1025. Was out on the piss (it is my birthday tomorrow) with my friends, idley checked blackfrancis.net on my phone and rushed back to my flat to order it. Took me about 20 minutes to get my order through. Copious amounts of alcohol and excitement do not make good mixture. Cost something like £65 including delivery if I remember correctly.
CANNOT WAIT to get it, although I am going to wait until I get it before indulging, so keeping well clear from youtube for now.
Did anyone else think the volume was really low on the making of der golem on youtube? I can't hear bugger all.

#1135; I almost cried when I saw my order number, but was glad to find out they were not starting at 0. I am going to avoid hearing this before it arrives. Can't believe how excited I am for this.
I am putting in the DVD first. |

We watched our preview copy tonight and all I have to say is that I haven't been this excited about the man's music in a long time. Reminds me a lot of the Catholics. Just rocks -- hard in places, gently in others -- and I would most certainly wait until you are able to properly blast this shit out of a home stereo. |

That means about 200 copies were sold in 24 hours... Not bad for a $90 box set sold with zero publicity.

Is the soundtrack on the film the live performance, or the studio version? |

It's the studio version, but if you wanted the live version you could probably put the dvd on mute and listen to the live discs, i bet they'd sink up |

Youtube Video clip 11... the juxtaposition/blend of Maharal and Miriam and Florian. Genius! All musicians are in their element... perhaps the most beautifully haunting reprise "combo" ever.

My favourite songs right now are Bad News, Miriam and Florian, and Stars. Seriously, how great are they? And those are just my super deluxe favourites - You're Gonna Pay, The Flower Song, Ghetto Gates, The Maharal, Custom all the Way - what a great soundtrack! I agree with oddball about the Maharal/Miriam and FLorian mix, it's great. I like alot of the alternate versions on the soundtrack, you know you have a good song when you can manipulate and rearrange it with such success. Reminds of me of Dylan bootlegs |

#1175! This looks too good to be true. Bad News is amazing. The sound, the sound, oooohhhh, the sound.

I can't get over how good this is! Bluefinger was great, but this is, after a few listens, somewhat of a masterpiece. The songs are pretty much across the board amazing, the segues and reprises brilliant, the sound and the bands playing is fantastic, and the vocal performances.. there is so much to comment on i don't even know where to start! I really hope this soundtrack lark turns into a habit for Mr Francis. It seens to have sparked yet another level of awesomeness from the man. Big props to EDF and the band also. |

Surely there will be a proper release in some form following this limited boxset? |
