I was reading the article posted by Speedy Franky, looks like this Louis Collin guy (the director) is a friend of Black Francis. He was involved in The Good Inn, and also filmed a documentary called "California" with Black Francis in it.

i think its safe to say that Um Chagga is their (Pixies / Tom's) fav track on this album.
the acoustic performance of it with RS last year didn't give me the impression that this was
THE SONG they were going to hang their hat on. i thought it was a cool b-side kinda thing to jump-start
their creative juices. i didn't even think it would be recorded for the new album....
goes to show you that I def don't have "the pulse" of the band at this current state of their creativity and whatever
musical expectations i have for the future of the band should be tempered as well.
i applaud them though for sticking to their guns and doing what "they want."

The pace of the video doesn't seem to match that of the song
Interesting shooting but the editing is uninteresting and out of sync
Storyline is meh, apart maybe the lynchian scenes, and when BF appears in the "real" universe

I think it would be neat if the band got together in a small bar with some friends, heck, even better, someone's backyard patio, set up a camera and just filmed a mini-concert of new songs and some classics and then released live performances of the new songs. Eventually throw the whole thing up on the website for free.

I'll be in front if my TV on october 14th, ARTE channel (France/Germany) is broadcasting a gig taped in July. Looks like a small venue. Not very far from what you're describing !
