Not on PixiesMusic but via the mailing list just picked up a ticket to this.

Another year, another date with Frank and only a mile from my home.

I wonder how much new music we'll have heard by then.

Looks like a bit of proper organization went into this. Quite a coup for Field Day.

Stage times have been released, Pixies on at 9 which gives them a 90 minute set. Just enough to play all of Trompe and all of Cindy...

Didnt play much of the new material, was very heavy on Doolittle stuff. Both Charles and Joey were a bit sloppy at points. Paz didnt sing that much but was ok - just not as spectacular as Joey advertises. They do look very tired though. Good but not as good as the 2013 shows..

I went along with my wife and ours sons. It was the first time the boys had seen Pixies live, though they had seen FB&TCs once before. Great gig, great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well I had an epic time! I noticed as soon as I arrived that the sound on the main stage was really quite low amplitude compared to other festivals I've been to, probably because it's a city park so fair enough. But what it meant was I had to abandon my plan to watch from a distance and head up to the front (which was dead easy to my surprise even 25min before they were due on). And I have to say even though I was perhaps 15 lines from the front as soon as River Euphrates started it just kicked off big time and didn't let up till the end. So I can't say anything about whether they sounded tired or sloppy, all I know for certain was that it was most full on crowd I've seen at a Pixies gig for long time, which was nice. And I was deleriously happy to hear Rock Music, 90+ seconds of total mayhem. I had to have stand back break at one point and watched a mosh to Indie Cindy which I found quite bizarre. Set list wise it did feel very early years heavy, would have loved to hear more Bossnova (hardly any Trompe). But even the anticipation around when Charles repeatedly false started Ed is Dead was chillingly good. Of the new songs I thought Greens and Blues worked really really well, a big sing-song around me for that at least. Bagboy also received like a normal Pixes classic. Silver snail was more subdued but as its my fave song off the album I was pretty stoked. Would have loved if they could have thrown in a Ring the Bell or Jaime Bravo. Here comes your man was very special, a big dance up. Vamos and WIYM amazing in the dark. The reaction and thanks at the end was just as intense at any other Pixes gig I've been to. They could have played all night long.

All in all I left very happy indeed. Got talking to a few people on the way out and they were all blown away. I hope this band never ends.

Seems like the festival sets aren't that great from an uberfan perspective
