I need to give Reflektor another chance. I didn't get into it when it came out.

Like the New Pornographers' Brill Bruisers quite a bit. Interested to hear the new Alt-J album. Like about everything i hear on Sirius XMU these days.

This is old but I've only just discovered Deerhoof. Very Frank Black-like to my ears. I like this band a lot.

Great band. My favourite of theirs is Reveille, try it if haven't already. Manic songs, melodic turns at every corner. Very much like early Pixies and FB, yes.

^^ Thanks, not heard that yet. Got a few of their albums now, listening to Friend Opportunity as I type! Favourites so far are that and Offend Maggie. I love it when I find something new and there's a big back catalogue to explore.

Listening to a lot of pop music lately. Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' is constantly in my head. Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' and Sam Smith's 'Im Not The Only One' are also pretty catchy.

(I have a mega crush on Taylor Swift at the moment!)

new Weezer is great. probably one of the top for 2014. in retrospect 2014 is turning out pretty good for music.

also been listening to the Afghan Whigs Gentleman at 21 - the demos and b-sides really make this one worth having.....

So Indie Cindy you say?

quick list:

1. Pixies Indie Cindy
2. Bob Mould Beauty & Ruin
3. Spoon They Want My Soul (13th Pitchfork/12th RS I might add)
4. Afghan Whigs Do To The Beast (made the RS list in the 30s)
5. Weezer Everything Will Be Alright In The End (not on any list - maybe this will be in the 2015 albums??? i mean, listen to Back to the Shack and that should net 2nd place ear-worm behind that "all about that bass")

Note: never checked out New Pornographers yet but it made 10th on the RS list. also will make a mental note to finally listen to the Swans To Be Kind as it ranked pretty high on every list i read as well as Parquet Courts.

Yes indie cindy.

And I should have added the spoon album. I quite enjoy that one. I really like the latest neko case album but I think that is 2013.
