Any word yet on where the pre/post-meet is for the Wednesday show? I'm looking forward to seeing some of the fans I met on the initial Canadian tour...I also hope to get a few drinks in before the doors open at the unprecedented time of 5:30 PM!!!

okie... I did a bit of poking around on the international centre's website and found some useful information about onsite and nearby restaurants. Onsite, they apparently have a licensed restaurant called "Out of the Blue". Sounds like a sports restaurant/bar to me promoting Labatt's which probably isn't very appropriate for a bunch of punk rock fans....nevertheless, it's an option:

There's also a decent sized list of nearby places, most of which are family restaurants, but after reading through the descriptions, the "Seasons restaurant and lounge" caught my eye after I read that they have a Smoking Lounge featuring a fireplace and mahogany paneling (panelling??), as well as satellite televisions and a fine selection of draft beers, bottled beers, single malt Scotch (mmm scotch and beer!), cognac, liqueurs and cocktails. I'd love to hear what other people think, and if there are any other suggestions as I'm pretty unfamiliar with that area..

If it has seperate venitalition then it's legal.
Audiodr, I did the same thing as you yesterday but realized that all the palces they list as near by are not withing walking distance. Most are at least a kilometer away. I didn't notice that out of the blue place but it think that's our best option. Unfortunately I just called them and they won't be open that day. The woman at administration recommended another place to me that is about 3KM away. We could meet there and then take a cab over to the show. She said we could walk but it would take a little while. I looked on the site and noticed that right next to it is a Lone Star though and that place has pretty good food although it still has the sports bar atmosphere. So my point is what does everyone thing about going to LoneStar? We would have to take a short cab right after but it seems at least to me to be aour best bet. It's located on the corner of Dixon and Carlingview and here is a the map for it. nah. not this time, I would be completely screwed if they don't let me in. I don't drive so no car to stash it in, not like winnipeg where I could have jsut gone back to the hotel....

I met a tonne of fans as well and can't remember there names.. I think some of the fans in Winnipeg also made it out to Vancouver.. what an awesome trip that was. I'm surprised there was so little interest in the Detroit shows... the State Theatre show on the 18th was totally awesome! |
