Today's random song of the day is Bone Machine.

What do you think of it?

lyrics
You're into Japanese fastfood
And I drop you off with your Japanese lover
And you go to the beach all day
You're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me
You're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me

You're looking like
You've got some sun
Your blistered lips
Have got a kiss
The days are lit like everyone
Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh

Your bone's got a little machine
You're the bone machine

I was talking to preachy-preach about kissy-kiss
He bought me a soda
He bought me a soda
He bought me a soda and he tried to molest me in the parking lot
Yep, yep yep YEP!

I make you break
You make me hard
Your Irish skin
Looks Mexican
Our love is rice and beans and horses lard
Your bone's got a little machine
You're the bone machine

Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh

Classic. Arguably their best song. Have they ever played a gig, where this song was not included?

Love it. It is such a definitive Pixies song as well. One of their best...

Is that what he says at the beginning?

Man, you learn something every day.

Yeah, I'd bet you could argue that this is the 'best' Pixies song.

It should be beamed out into space faster than anything else so it will be the first thing the aliens hear.

What this guy said.

Strange drums, joey's lead work at it's best, charles's mix of talking and singing, kim in the background. je l'aime

It's not by far my fave Pixies song, but it's an amazing opening track. When I listened Surfer Rosa for the first time it was like: "WOW!, these guys are from another planet!" And it was around 2000 when I heard it, so... it was made a long time ago and it's still fresh.

They open all their shows with it because I covered it on the tribute album and I told them about disclive and they are trying to honor me =)

As you honor me in your cover of this song during the quote I use in my signature.

I wonder how many times the band has played the song live with the shortened down lyrics. I'll explain if you've never heard it.

The song starts out as instumental only when he is supposed to sing "You're into Japanese..." and he start singing when he gets to "You're looking like you've got some sun...."

Just wondering.

"sleazy lead line"

Very well put! Raunchy is another word that comes to mind...
It's that guitar aesthetic that Joey often has, a melody bordering on the brink of chaos/disonnance.

I love the way it starts. Pounding drums followed by that searing lead guitar..... What more could anyone want from a song?
