I saw a good show in a friends' backyard tonight. There were several interesting and clever bands that played. One was called Song-Y-Oke (like karaoke). It was a husband and wife group from Ontario. An hour or so before they performed, they made an announcement for anybody to take a Song-Y-Oke sheet and write down lyrics off the top of their head. They specified that these had to be lyrics created right then and there (though I'll bet cheating happens from time to time). So many people filled out the Song-Y-Oke sheets, which you had to put your name on and the title of your smash hit, plus you had to check what style you wanted the song to be in. You had the option to choose "Let Song-Y-Oke decide). So I of course wrote a song, and for some reason wrote about a rhododendron (the song was called "Let It Grow"). It was rather nonsensical. Anyway, they get up and the first song they selected was mine. So they busted out my stupid song and it was fun. I had selected for the song to be in "soft rock" style so they got a funny soft rock groove coming from the keyboard or whatever it was they were using. They were really good at coming up melodies and ways to sing these lyrics they'd never been acquaintd with before. It was a great deal of fun. Plenty of good people at this... Hootenany, as the family who hosts these shows refers to them as. There were a lot of creative acts I saw tonight. I can't even do them justice by writing about them. I wish you all could have been there.

I picked up the re-issue of COP, on LP of course, and won the Alec 7" auction on ebay over the weekend. I got Alec for $1. So now my LP and 7" collection is complete.

i post once in a blue moon.
Been thinking about bicycling from
Chicago to Arizona (roughly).
I will probably carry a signpainting kit and be a true snapper.
Who knows maybe i will learn to like the lifestyle
and eventually wander and tour the seven harbors
(maybe one more?).
Can't leave until after the Pixies' Aragon show.
At least I'll be going towards the warmer climate.
I'm a hungry Taurus that needs a change.

ACTUALLY I post 0.87 times a day according
to my stats.
TAR TAR: I wish i were at that backyard thing there, that sounded like fun.
And actually i was in an accident today that could have been much worse (noone hurt)but as i was knocked into two lanes of on-coming traffic and
forced to ditch it into the Dominoes' pizza parking lot i felt lucky.
