damn! That charlie kaufman gets you every time, great acting by Carrey and Winslet
I like it very much
I also like adaptation and Being John Malkovich

I saw that movie on a plane ride recently. I thought it was ok.
Did he direct those other two?
I'm correcting papers now and "I like it very much" is on my list of phrases my students can never use again. That doesn't have anything to do with anything; I'm just sick of correcting papers and am wasting as much time as I can. . .

Don`t correct sentences such as " I like it very much", then!! that would save you a lot of time, so you can leave your appartment right now and visit the interesting pearl markets..haha
What is wrong with "I like it very much"? I still don`t get it? |

I've read the screenplay and I think I'll love it. I figure Gondry (french director) did well, but I wonder how. Whenyou read, you wonder how it's possible to make it.

Yeah, I'm selectively correcting. There's nothing wrong with that sentence, it's just that everyone uses it. I don't know why, but they always feel the need to say it . . . even when the assignment should be written in the 3rd person. I'm also systematically removing phrases they get from their electronic dictionaries. I don't want them all sounding the same and saying the same thing over and over again.
I thought Big Fish had a great plot, but pacing and approach could have been a lot better. What's "clean"? I really want to see "The Village" and I also hated "Monster" - what a piece of garbage.

"Clean" is a French movie by Olivier Assayas, starring Maggie Cheung and Nick Nolte. Half the movie is set in the USA and you constantly swith between French, English and Cantonese. It's about a girl who's living with an ex-rock star (played by the leader of Gallon Drunk) and who's a junkie; when her boyfriend dies of an OD, she spends 6 months in prison and then tries to stop the drugs and go back to normal life in order to get her son back, as he was raised by her boyfriend's parents. It's really hard for me to write about the movie in english, but it's a very accurate description of what became to the people of the "alternative" music industry in the 80's; and it has a killer soundtrack by Tricky (who plays his own role as the dead singer's friend), David Roback of Mazzy Star and Dean Wareham of Galaxy 500. I don't know if it's gonna have a worldwide release (maybe though because of Nick Nolte), but I strongly recommend you to go see it. I almost never see French movies, don't like them, but this one was really cool.

Eternal Sunshine... great movie. I am looking forward to the DVD. I'll probably buy that before I give George Lucas 45 dollars for the Star Wars DVDs.
And Big Fish, since it was brought up, was one of my favorites of the year (whichver year it came out). I very much like it (variation)

Yeah, it comes out next week (the 27th or 28th) on DVD and I am going to buy it too. I really loved it. It's very pretty to look at as well.

Yeah, it is cute and worth seeing. It would be a good first or second date movie. It's quirky and sort of reminds me a little of the style of Being John Malkovitch. Would you agree Bill? |
