Na, I live near Oban, but came across for the gig. Thought they were probably worth going to see plus went with an old school friend, good to catch up. I quite like Cabaret Voltaire as a venue - probably a sign of my age that I much prefer smaller venues these days.

I saw some local bands play there once, I though they were great and the sound was good too. I also prefer smaller venues, much better atmosphere, you can move around more freely and go to the bar/toilets when you need too. Doorman can be a problem in CV though, any time I have been there the doorman have caused me problems, like refusing entry for no reason, or other people. They wouldn't let my mates into a gig once to see a major band because they thought they were too drunk, I mean who goes to a gig these days and has a few beers beforehand... they missed all but the last 2 songs. Hopefully I'll get in if I get tickets for Yuck though, just make sure I'm not wired to the moon before I get there. |
