The album hasn't been officially released here yet, I don't think , so it can't really come top in any polls (not that that stopped noripcord.com)
It has yet to fully worm its way into my good books really, but I'll keep trying. For example, I got it at the same time as Low's new album and there's no way I think AF is better than that.

Time will tell.

Yeah but you have no doubt listened to Low's more.

You're right about the polls, it can't qualify for last year.

I'm not sure, I've listened to both quite a lot. I think Funeral may be more of a grower than a sure, whereas I instantly loved Low's 'The Great Destroyer' (which I heartily recommend, btw).

yes Rita, they play in Paris at the Nouveau Casino (10/03), wich is a small venue, with great sound. I've seen there Tahiti 80, The Sound Track Of Our Lives and 80's Matchbox Disaster.

Maybe after that they will come to Portugal, do you know where to find their tour dates, I've looked all over, but still can't find.

Floop's not right, Floop's a late joiner! And an early skeptic. Maybe he's wrong about Wilco after all?

I'm quietly petitioning a Canadian tour with several stops in Saskatoon. Several. That's right. I would be thrilled to see them live.

I saw them on Sunday Remig. You're in for a treat.

Check out the 2/1/05 update on this site for a little review of that show.

"Floop is right" - Rita, earlier in this thread

it's true that i was skeptical. but i always am when something is so popular so suddenly. everyone i talked to was like, "arcade fire.. arcade fire.." but eventually i gave it a listen and, concede, that it's an excellent album.

i've had the misfortune of hearing Wilco on and off for years now and stick to my opinions about them. with them it's certainly not a premature decision. it's just a right decision

Is that the one from their "booking agent"s website? With the horribly out of date bio? Good picture though, so sad...

I think so, but I can't remember exactly where I found it, it's very sad, and I think it's the best picture to discribe the album.

Looking at that picture, and thinking of what happened to the bad before/during the making of the album, it really gives weight to the lyrics "my family tree is losing all its leaves".

Are these memories caused by the lyrics, or a have you been listening to the band for a long time?

I've listened to their album nearly 75 times (no kidding) and I -haven't- focused on the lyrics, yet. I'm loving the sound they have, the melodies, the songs. Next, the words!

Both, I listen to it a lot, I've read the lyrics, and I also know the story about the album, so I guess that is all.

Damn it, that second show would coincide with my planned trip to London, but the friend who is a fellow fan has just lost his job, so I doubt he would be able to come.

Damn it.

According to Rough Trade, there's only the one date here in the UK - March 8th.
Which I can't make, dag nam it.
