What kind of coffee does everyone drink, if any? And how much?
I like just plain black coffee, mostly. Some flavored stuff is good like Hazelnut, vanilia (sp) ect. Amaretto and liquor flavored stuff isn't my fave. Do not get into the coffee house half caf/ half decaf mocha latte's and shit. And I drink it most of the morning at work and them sometimes we have some in the afternoon.

Free trade organic. We try to get shade-grown whenever we see it. Flavor-roasted or not. Usually make it really strong in a french press (I'm much more careful with it now though), with just a little half and half.
I usually drink one or two very large mugfulls in the morning. Sometimes an espresso or some turkish or ethiopian coffee in the evening.
mmmmm, about to have my first sip now. |

I love real strong coffee. Mexican Organic is the strongest I've had. The other folks at work don't like it strong. The Turkish coffee you speak of, apl, sounds awesome. Where do you get that?

We bought some from a really neat online store called Natasha's Cafe.
http://www.natashascafe.com/
They carry lovely Ibriks there for brewing the coffee as well. That store is awesome.
Barring that, if you live in a fairly diverse area, there should be a local ethnic foods store that would carry it. I can't do anything with less than strong coffee. It's a necessity. Something about the way it tastes brewed in a french press that you can't reproduce any other way. I like the stovetop espresso pots too.
I really miss camping for lots of reasons, but on a cool morning, hungry and crawling out of your tent, the smell of percolating coffee! Oh my! |

I luuurve coffee. I have a card in my cube which says "Coffee! You can sleep when you're dead!"
I like iced coffee the best, especially iced latte's from Starbucks. And when I am in Europe, cappachinos please!

I'm not picky about my coffee, as long as it's black. No cream, no sugar. Only coffee beans and water. Because I don't like heart palpitations, I only drink decaf.
This forum has really become a haven for the most mundane subjects. |

French Vanilla is fabulous.
Em, my bro googled some good recipes online for Starbuck's fraps. He makes them soooooo good, I'm a frap junkie now. They're not too hard to make, check it out.

Ok, I'll be the dickhead.
Its espresso, Denis. Sorry, one of my pet peeves.
I like mocha java - the cheap way is half a cup of coffee, a packet of Swiss Miss and fill the rest with hot water. Double caffeine whammy and tastes like a chocolate covered espresso bean(s)...which also kick much ass.
Oh, and I do about 3-4 cups a day. I'm pretty whacked by 6pm... |

i've been spoiled by Peet's Coffee (a small chain in California). i go there literally every morning, and am sipping from a cup right now (sans java jacket i might note).
they brew their coffee so perfectly, and so consistently.. making my own coffee at home (which i used to always do) has become obsolete.
i'm reading this book about the history of coffee, so i can impress women in line at coffee shops with my vast knowledge

What tops off a great cup of coffee? A subversive mug. This is what I'm drinking my coffee from today:
My Mother's family has the elephants -I swear didn't realize what those elephants were doing until I was in college! Even weirder? Supposedly they're really hard to find, but my husband's parents have the rabbits, and they bought us the giraffes from a thrift store as an Xmas gift. |

Yeah, Peet's is awfully good. My cousin brought us some and I'm drinking it right now. I'll have to try and pick some more up online. Don't really want to go back to Folgers.

I love the espresso, also. Just don't get it that often. That way it is a treat when I do get it.
One day at an old work place, we made coffee that ate throught the styrophom(sp-no idea) cups we had. You had to slam it fast.

I don't drink coffee and don't really aim to start (if it tasted like it smelled, I'd be in a lot of trouble). Fortunately, I can't stand the taste.
But I somehow enjoy Greek coffee a lot.

Apl, that cup is hysterical!
I feel sad with my boring mug with a picture of a artsy sunflower on it. I really want the shoe or LOVE mug from http://www.msmugs.com/acatalog/Mclaggan_Smith_Mugs_Edward_Monkton_1.html - does anyone wanna buy it for me for a belated birthday gift?

Anyone ever try "poo coffee"? Did we talk about this already?
"The luak, that’s a small catlike animal, gorges after dark on the most ripe, the best of our crop. It digests the fruit and expels the beans, which our farm people collect, wash, and roast, a real delicacy."
"Something about the natural fermentation that occurs in the luak’s stomach seems to make the difference. For Javanese, this is the best of all coffees—our Kopi luak."

I completely agree with floop. I love Peet's and Italian Roast is usually my favorite. No sugar or cream. However, sometimes I feel awful after drinking a medium Peet's coffee. It's so damn strong. On campus I usually drink Fair Trade Organic coffee.
Floop, I read that book. The beginning history was the most interesting to me. Also, the middle part where coffee gets pushed aside by soft drinks which were better marketed. |

For some reason I read this as "I put some anger in it". Mmm, angry coffee with bitter on the side.

One other thing, I'm leading a crusade against fufu coffee sizes. No more talls and grandes. Are we suppose to feel cool and connected by talking in their code? The smallest size they have that's called a small. The biggest one they have that's a large. The one in between that's a medium. It's a system we've had for a few years and it works pretty well. So, next time you order tell the "bartista" that you want a medium coffee and strike down the corporate fufu talk. |

not that i ever go to Starbucks, but if i ever do, i refuse to use their lame ass quasi-Italian lingo. Medium please. shouldn't a "tall" be the largest size?

Coffee: Do Stupid Things Faster With More Energy.
I love coffee, so much so that I started ny own thread on it ages ago (thief ).
I currently drink coffee my brother gave me. Some relatives of the people he stayed with in South Africa own a coffee plantation, so he got me a big bag o' beans direct from Chihosa Coffee Farm, Zimbabwe. And I'm telling you, that is seriously wonderful coffee.
I like mine any which way but loose - I like espresso very much, or ristretto if I'm feeling racy; I have a cappucino every morning at work as the second cup of the day.
Much as I love my Tetley tea, and as a true Brit I must and do, coffee is where its at. I love it to bits.
Kind regards, Dr. Simon Specialist In Broken Hearts |

I used to drink really a lot of coffee until the doctor told me that it might be one of the reasons, along with my hypertension, why I am so nervous. Now I don't slap random people on the streets anymore.
Btw, how can you Americans drink flavored coffee?
Oh, and I don't consider Starbucks "coffee" as coffee but rather as some disgusting medication aimed at getting you a quick diarrhea.

i love coffee, drink it close to black (1/3 a half/half and 1/3 a sugar) and preferably out of my mets mug. and it has no ill effect on me sleep wise (caffeine doesn't keep me up), so i drink it late at night usually. and first thing in the morning. and at meals...
