So i got tired of waiting for a correct version to come out so i tabbed out new house of the pope...
here we go
Pretty simple really you just play an A minor
yah yah Am Am and then it does an Am7 like xx2213 get what i mean, then back to the Am pattern, then E, Dm, Am, E, F, Dm, Am to the Am pattern again... so like this
with the lyrics
Am Am Am7 Am Am Am7
When she said she did not love me, that's when i lost all hope
Am Am Am7 Am Am Am7 Am Am E
so i jumped into a river, called the new house of the pope
Dm Am E F Dm Am
and back to the pattern again... i hope this is of some use!!

i've always wondered what frank was talking about when he sang about the new house of the pope, i thought it was some kind of american phrase that i had never heard. but the other night, i had a dream, it was very strange. my favourite wine is a french wine called chateauneuf-du-pape and while i speak a bit of french, i never really thought about the translation. but for sme reason, in my sleep the other night, i was thinking about how quoi de neuf? in french means what's new? so i worked out chateauneuf du pape mwans the new house of the pope, which must be what frank was referring to. agree? maybe he was just speaking about how he was drowning his sorrows in my favourite french wine!

It is about the Chateauneuf du Pape indeed. Frank introduced the song last years in Paris saying "This is a song about Chateauneuf-du-Pape".
