I believe it wasn't listed there before what you didn't say (as piece of evidence) is that its number of BMI Work is 7119379 while something as Black Letter Day is 6072210 we all know that Boom Chicka Boom was written more than ten years before Black Letter Day so infact it's listed as a new song!
thanks matto!

is it possible the song has been 'registered' ready for release on 'frank black francis' (the demos side)?
And it's hard to be a human being, and it's harder as anything else, and I'm lonesome when you're around, and I'm never lonesome when I'm by myself, and I miss you when you're around. |

what a coincidence...i have the same review of "Bam Thwok!" lyrics as i do "Boom.."
i just never liked "campy"....they might be giants might be a breath of fresh air to take the new-age away from just undefined weirdness and fringe punk scene, but i still just dont enjoy a lot of their silly/campy songs.
that said, ownership is ownership and "Boom..." does contain a few lyrics that make teenagers giggle and will probally be covered by someone sometime so the royalty streams might as well be hooked up proper. and thnx for that link, never knew they kept a public searchable database before.

i guess i should have said "new wave"
they took the pop/post-punk feel outta early 80s new wave and put it back in the hands of the musicians, promoting the music itself over the image and stage show...leting the music do the work and not letting the weird subject matter take away from the performance's seriousness.
they didnt need funky outfits like Devo, funny haircuts like Flock of Seagulls, or a complex public relations machine like Haircut 100.
not like they were the innovators of it, but they are one of the longest surviving acts that popped up outta the mid-80s. |
