Kim's hair was excellent as was her dress sense tonight, all of them were very relaxed..........come to think of it so was I.
The sound was better than the 2nd Brixton show I saw.
They really enjoyed themselves tonight smiles and banter all round. |

First time I've seen 'em live and I thought they were excellent, so glad I got a ticket after missing out on Brixton. Would've love to have seen them do 'Hey' but you can't have everything!

| They were on terrific form tonight - the planet of sound screw-up with Dave & Joey blaming each other for false starts was hilarious . Also that magician type 'hey presto' hand movement that Dave does when they finish the set really cracks me up. Top dollar & a blinding gig at the forum |

Agree with everything everyone said, saw them at the first night at brixton and in comparison to last night they looked a frightened band at brixton, relaxed and cheery and were on terrific form, saw frank come out of the venue whilst queing and exchanged good luck wishes with him whilst my wife squeaked at my side. A great night.

Wow!
Frank was wandering around Kentish town for over an hour before the gig. First saw him walk past the Tally Ho and followed him for a bit but didn't approach him - thought it was really cool that he was walking around undisturbed while there were hundreds of pixies fans queueing nearby. Then saw him walking back past the Bull and Gate. Then when I popped back to the Tally Ho to meet friends he was sitting in the Internet Cafe next door. He was sitting right by the door looking out the window - anywhere else and he wouldn't have been visible. So finally I thought I couldn't let this opportunity go past so I apologetically got him to sign my ticket. He didn't say anything - didn't seem overjoyed to be disturbed - so I just left him to it.
Was a fantastic gig, but I can't remember much about it. |

yeah he was scooching about trying to get a signal on his phone all I said was hello and wished him best for the show, dave was also about he wasnt even noticed, no one, not even my wife, I did mind and I was a gibbering wreck. Angelpoise, I saw a couple of fans in and around the tally ho, were you the guy in the brown pixies shirt with the shaved head or perhaps the more mature gent with the black pixies sellout shirt?

no, I was incognito - blue short-sleeved shirt, immature 30-something ... was in there on my own around 6ish and then met friends there later about 7ish ... got very over-excited meeting frank and consequently drunk a skinful of the 99p fosters - hence the blurry recollection
btw, do you know what mr francis prefers to be called these days? (I called him charles) |

What a show, even way better than Saturday's gig at Brixton. I totally agree with you that the band were in such a relaxed mood I've never seen before.
I especially enjoyed the 'reverse' order of the set. They started with Frank on acoustic guitar opening with In Heaven/Wave Of Mutilation (UK Surf). Planet Of Sound was pure rawk and I also loved to hear Winterlong. The crowd seemed more buyoant than at the Academy, shouting 'You are the son of a...' in Nimrod's Son must have lifted the roof for inches. The exact setlist can be found on the NME-site.
It was also nice that they have 'updated' the shirts with the new tour dates like yesterday's.
I hope it doesn't take another 13 years to see them again.
PS: Am I the only one who liked Kim's long hair better? 
PPS: This time only Good Vibrations from the Beach Boys before the show. The dj played an excellent mixture of hits (Violent femmes, Ramones etc.)

Great show and good to hear the band playing about with the songs. I thought Where Is My Mind was possibly the best version I've heard on this tour so far.
After the front few rows the audience was a big subdued (seemed older on the whole) compared to the Brixton shows. Kim's haircut was great and she appeared to being THE greatest time!
The Tally Ho pub.hmmm. dodgy geezers selling dvds and dodgy toilets...makes the Bull and Gate look like the Ritz.

Best Show EVER!!!!6th time this year and thats how the pixies are supposed to sound!
The sound was perfect! You could hear every thing so clear joey and charles's guitars were so raw and perfectly distorted.
Bought the DVD at a stall in camden today!

Truly amazing, extremely tight, yet so relaxed about the whole thing as well. Pretty perfect set list, with hairs standing on the back of my neck from the opening chord of In Heaven. Possibly the best renditions EVER of Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf) and Nimrod's Son (could they of played it any faster??). I thought the Brixton gig was good, but this took the roof off, no anxiety (and a half decent sound system) made this pretty much my all time top gig ever.
 Forget the cults I got me a whole church! |

This was a great show! Sound was so much better than Brixton and the band seemed much more relaxed.
99p Fosters! Jesus! I was paying £3.20 for cans of Stella in the Forum. Nightmare! I needed several after my torrid journey from Newcastle. Traffic jams, plane late, tube closed at Tottenham Hale - I was in a reet sweat! Got there at 8pm.
I was upstairs as I'd knackered my legs at Manchester (too old to pogo!) and had a great view as the boring ba**ards in the first 6 or so rows remained seated till about 8 songs in. Then the bouncers kept clearing the aisle!
An excellent night! |

yeah, was a great night.
seemed much tighter and more relaxed than either brixton night i saw.
crowd was very subdued compared to brixton which was a plus as i wasn't partaking in any silliness.
was also fun meeting two guys who'd been to their gigs back in 1988....
also can't wait to hear martins tape either, cause he says it sounds pretty decent.

amazing amazing show
though i was all swetty after it, from all the jumping and screaming i had to do...
there was a point, near the end, when frank came closer to kim, whisperd in her ears somthing, and the crowed was extatic cause lot of ppl imagined they he kissed her... whisfull thinking, bla..
nevertheless, they smiled alot and it was all very very powerfull, the lights and everything was just perfect
best songs for me was DEAD, and TAME
frnak shouted DEAD like he was 18 years old, very very chilling
the crowed was making alot alot of noise, as they should, maybe because the scheduled openers "the killers" did not arrive for some reason and there were about 3 hours of nice but not amazing rock, british rock on the speakers... ppl got very anxious..... me also
and when the came up on stage it was pure extasy!

that didnt work, i took a photo of the board where it said killers 23rd August. Also on the itinerary page which i took from the soundboard it just said Pixies 9:00

I think it was merely advertising the killers gig at the forum on 23rd of august and the date had just come off. I have heard though that they are playing Brixton in November, not entirely sure if that is true, the killers that is not the pixies.
