Quick one: do you match the music to listen to to the mood you're in? For example, if you're in a bad mood, do you put angry music on because that's how you feel, or do you put on soothing music to take away the rage?

If I'm in a bad mood, I generally pick through my mp3's and select some rockers, Iggy seems to work well - you may recall that 'Search & Destroy' is the exact essence of rock'n'roll, and thats a good start. I've also picked 'Paint It Black' and 'When The Man Comes Around' by Johnny Cash as well.

Kind regards,

I'm in a bad mood.. I'm listening to at the drive in...
I can't remember what mood I was in when I put it on though, I've had two cups of coffee since then. mmm coffee.

I do have tunes that I reserve for being really angry, usually very rocky songs that I can Ra along to and I usually feel a hell of a lot better after that.

An ex-friend wrote an essay for a fanzine I used to do when I was young (note when I was young! so it's allowed, alright!) about depressing music being like a flu jab, that listening to depressing music didn't automatically make you miserable and could actually be very uplifting! which I think is quite true. If I'm really unhappy I'll listen to beautiful freak and the bends a lot. They just fit. Sigh. I need some new music.

blah blah blah.. I waffle..

I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

If I'm in a bad mood, I usually try to play music that will get me OUT of said bad mood.
