Don't count out WVU. If you thought the fires were a big deal last year, just wait.

Do people in Albany drink so much because they want to forget they're in Albany? |

Cool, my school's students were found to be the most likely to vote Republican. I am so proud...

I think there's a definite correlation between being drunk and voting Republican. Maybe someone should study that.

Isn't it also the school most likely to lose a football game 77-0?

Yep, actually I am quite proud of that also, I hate those "I like this school cause of some sport/team" types. Fuck the sports! When did schools ever become important because of their sports? I thought it was about education not about cheering for some dudes on a playing field. Maybe I should play football so that I can be one of the "important" "students" of Texas A&M University...

Hey, I had a question for you american students. I read The Rules Of Attraction a few years ago, and I watched the movie yesterday, and wondered if the campus parties you have there are anything like pictured in the book. Cause I went to university here in France and (unfortunately) we never ever had a Dressed To Get Screwed party. Can you tell me more about how you party?

Rules of Attraction really showed the world of old Ivy league schools. Most aren't as base. The closest I came to the Ivy league myself was my freshman year at William and Mary. There were a few parties at that level. But not as much drugs.

Not a Virginian myself. The place actually bugs me. In fact, that's why I only put in one year there before I had to get out and came back home to NYU.
The Ivy League refers to a group of very prestigious, old, east coast colleges, all of them being the best in the nation. They include Brown, Dartmoth, Princeton, Havard, Yale, and Columbia, and a couple others.

Stanford and U of Chicago might dispute the Ivy League being the best in the nation (certainly they are among the best). And some public schools as well (U of Michigan, Cal - Berkeley |

My sister goes to William and Mary, and she and her friends were "busted" with cans of beer in their dorm room. They were quietly watching a movie, and some RAs were spying on them outside their window. If she is "written up" again (2 times, you're out), she can be suspended/kicked out.
Not a very "party" atmosphere if you ask me. More like fascist.

While I don't approve of RAs spying on people, I also think you'd have to be pretty dumb to drink IN YOUR DORM ROOM. Sheesh, is it THAT hard to go off campus?

hang on, you're not allowed to drink in your uni rooms? WTF?!?!?!?!?! Thats madness, we could have kept the university in drink for a year the amount we got through in halls. For my Birhday they made me a paisley cake and soaked it in vodka.. mmmm vodka

Well, the legal drinking age is 21 here, thus...
When I went to school for a semester in England, they handed us pint cans of Guinness and student discount cards for the clubs in our Orientation kits. Amazing, and delicious.

wow, where did you go? I got a free tin of beans (blurgh) and a lollypop! I did get a free pint in the fat cat whenever I bought a text book form the shop over the road. And it was £1 a pint in some pub every night. And there were the 50p double tequilla nights. 21, random, your legal hanky panky age is older too isn't it? weird.

Yeah, legal hanky panky is 18 in many states. Can't remember where it's lower.
Wow, here's a state by state breakdown: http://www.sexlaws.org/answers/index.html
Oh, and I went to Sunderland University, in '94. It was...uh, lovely...;)

weird....
Q: I had sex with my ex-girlfriend when she was 15 years old and I was 21. She turned 16 in June. I am still 21 years old. She initiated sex and I said yes so it's not rape. We broke up and haven't seen each other for half a year already. Since this happened already and nothing can be done about it, is there some time period where if she wanted to, file charges against me for statutory rape?
A: Charges can be brought against you for indecency with a child anytime up to 10 years after she turns 18.
He's going to be shitting it for a while! I hope it was a neat break up!

I never lived in dorms, but that is where we would *go* to drink. Someone usually had smuggled in a case of booze somehow...I was walking past an RA with a friend who was carrying two bottles of vodka in his trenchcoat, toward the front. RA: "Whatcha got in the coat?" My friend: "My cock! Wanna see it?" RA: "Erm, uh..." My friend: "Too bad 'cause I'm shy."
We, and several other friends, proceeded to get stupid on liquor in the dorm. This was a typical evening. I guess every school I visited had a whole lot of stupid students. Or you were a nardo. :)
