This should be fun...

There
Their
They're

These words are "homonymous" and sound the same. The catch is that they have different meanings and uses:

There:
Adverb - At or in that place: "Sit over there."

Pronoun - Used to introduce a clause or sentence: "There are numerous items."

Adjective - Used especially for emphasis after the demonstrative pronoun that or those, or after a noun modified by the demonstrative adjective that or those: "That person there ought to know the directions to town."

Noun - That place or point: "He stopped and went on from there."

Interjection - Used to express feelings such as relief, satisfaction, sympathy, or anger: "There, now I can have some peace!"

Their (The possesive form of "they"):

Adjective - Used as a modifier before a noun: "Their accomplishments; their home town."

They're:
This is simply a contraction of they are.

Other forms of homonymous words include:

Your
You're

Feet
Feat

Sun
Son

Blew
Blue

Okay, now to the "game"...How many homonymous words can you think of? I've only listed 5 groups and there are many, many more.

Woo..fun.

When they're spelled the same but have different meanings they're "polysemous".

Oh, I see! Go edit it, Carolynanna!

Tyme? Is that another British word like "tyre"? Or do you mean the herb? Thyme?

I'm not being sarcastic..I'm genuinely intrigued.

Ramona, Carolynanna already brought polysemous words up. (Spelled the same but have different meanings.) And we aren't heading that way...
