Hey everyone,
Was just wondering how many of you out here in Frank Black world watched the cartoon series "Doug" as a kid (the classic, original Nickelodeon one, not the Disney one). What did you think of it? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I thought it was (and still is) awesome!!! I especially loved "The Beets". Not a real band, I know, but they were just as good as one (and better than some that are out today). They were kind of made to be a cross between The Beatles and The Ramones, and listening to their music, I think you'd agree.
I was wondering if anyone here would know where I could get the mp3's of their songs, or if anyone had them. I found "Killer Tofu", but the ending is missing, and I haven't had any luck finding "I Need More Allowance" or "Shout Your Lungs Out", either.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I watched Doug. It was a really good show. Then they changed up the formula and it got weird...
I guess I just wasn't made for these times. |

I was a big Doug fan. I even remembered the band from your title alone, hehe (read as skeeter's noise). And yeah, Doug sucked when they redid it.
Sorry, I can't help you find any mp3's, but let us know if you have any success. I wouldn't mind hearing them myself.

i liked it when it was on nickelodeon - when it went to abc and they changed doug's voice it sucked

The BEETS!!!! I loved Doug, I don't remember what happened, I think I just stopped watching. Hey what about Rocko's Modern Life? Or Eek the Cat (not a nick cartoon it was a great fox cartoon)?

I never saw it revised, but I liked Doug on Nickelodeon back in the day... though he could've done better than Patty. :)
I saw your topic title and thought, "There's no way he's talking about The Beets from Doug", but sure enough...
I love Killer Tofu, though it was much like the I Need More Allowance tune, which I also liked, but not as much. To this day when someone says tofu, I think of that song. :)
Wasn't Skeeter's noise more like a honking sound?

Rocko's modern life was pretty cool,trying to be Ren and Stimpy too much sometimes though.How cool were(are) Ren and Stimpy? Very.

Rocko's modern life disturbed me. what was he? what was his dog thing doing? spunky wasn't it, kids watched that shit man, it's wrong

I remember both Doug and Rocco's Modern Life very well. Doug was excellent. Characters like Quilman were tops.
