i dunno if this is wrong of me to think, but i often presume that most pixies fans can play guitar (or bass) |

i have a gibson s.g. but i prefer the first guitar i bought.. an encore! i turned the pick-ups around so now i get a lot of distortion & it squeels & makes awsome noises without much effort, ideal for pixies stuff. i think my neighbors hate me now. |

hey boner, can you explain to me why turning round the pick-ups gives more to your guitar. never heard this before, sounds cool though. |

I play giutar, keyboard, saxaphone, tin flute, recorder, percussion and I sing and do slam poetry.
My favorite guitar is my 52' tele replica... and my favorite amp is the one I just got, a Randall RG75... retails for 800$, I got it used MINT from a friend of mine for 250$. Total steal. But I am very happy. The celestion makes such a difference. my tele loves it.

Yeah, I like it. I got the Blonde and Black Pickgaurd one... I play it a lot, very versatile guitar

So you like ivandival's guitar then LBF?
It is indeed a gorgeous guitar. I wish I could get a left handed one.
And yeah, boner, could you explain the pick-up thing please?

Very very nice.
Indeed, very nice!
A normal, well, '52 Tele is on my 'to do' list, lefty, like Mike . I play a Jaguar and a Black Francis Contempotary Telecaster (his weird Pixies era Tele). Amp wise, I'm after a Fender Twin to replace a Fender solidstate poop-amp I'm currently using. I love Fender reverb, especially when playing through a Jaguar's neck p'up.

got me a jaguar too, but one problem is my e string constantly slips off, dont think the bridge is the best. i just play with the problem now and am use to it. i tried a tele bridge on it once and think that may have been ok but can't remember. somehow the original bridge back on the jag. anyway, does anyone have any ideas what to do? please. |

How on earth did you get a Tele bridge onto a Jaguar? Do you mean the saddles? Best thing to do is to put a Mustang bridge on. They're good, and fit straight into a Jag's bridge holes with no problems at all. Sometimes they pop up on ebay-UK, but you'll probably be best finding one in an online shop....if anyone can think of a shop that sells Mustang bridges, do mention it.

yeah sorry, did mean the saddles, was racking my brain for minutes staring at my guitars thinking what the hell they called.....its finally happened. the realisation that my short term, fuck it, my memory is shot. mislead think you got me my solution. thanks! was after a mustang before the jag but the only one i found while lookin was a battered and bruised cherry red which was awesome..and so to the £1000 price tag.
if ever i manage to get my tele bridge on the jag you'll be the first to know |

I play guitar, I've got lots of stuff but mostly I play a 1963 Cadillac Green Gretsch Country Club through a 1966 Fender Super Reverb.
The Super Reverb is a story, I bought it as a "head" (someone cut the speakers off). It has a 4 ohm transformer, well it's a mess, but it is pretty and sounds wonderful (thanks to Gar Gilles)!
Gar Gilles, the Gar in Garnet Amplifiers is one of the most excellent people on the planet. I use his Guillotine unit, which I recommend to all.
I'm putting together a Telecaster now, it will look like 1952, but it's a Squier. The whole project has stalled for months because we're waiting for the coup-de-gras a Bigsby B16 Tremolo.
I've bought some stuff through Internet Music Supply. They say they have a Mustang bridge. |

I've got a Gibson SG and an Ibanez AFS75T Artcore which I absolutely love. Play them through a Peavey Classic 50/410 w/FX. I've only been playing for a couple of years now so I'm not too good. Love playing though, lots of fun.

yea tolerant & homers pet monkey.. when i put the wiring back together i did it as best i could but it didn't sound like it should have, then i found a website that shows wiring diagrams for different pickups. it says that by simply putting the pickups back in different ways around, you are reversing the polarity of them, (since thery're basically magnets)causing them to sound different. the website also had all sorts of modifications you could do with the wiring... try these... http://mywebpages.comcast.net/skgs/sk/wiring.htm or www.guitarnuts.com is another good one |
