When Liz Phair comes on to talk about the "3 Alternative Rockers of 199(insert number here)" the opening chord sounds VERY much like the opening chord to Here Comes Your Man. Has anyone else noticed this? It might just be Pixies goodness, who knows. It's only one chord so it's hard to tell, but that one chord is very unique..

Oh, and not to mention Black Francis was picked as 91's "Dirty Pixies Rocker" evidently.

Yes, I noticed that last night. It is the opening chord to "Here Comes Your Man".
And I did hear that about Black Francis...I haven't seen it though.

He was!! Fuck the one I missed the mention BF. Now I have to watch again. I remember watching it and I missed it the first time, but I watched 1992 one and was like, "Que??" I missed BF, and I was complaining that they weren't talking about him either or the Pixies break up.

In my defense... I'm just sayin'

Never seen that pic of Charles before. Huh, how interesting. Never seen that pic of Charles before. Huh, how interesting. You know what image I can't get out of my head... on I Love The 80s Strikes Back, when they handed Frank a My Little Pony. That was so funny, he looked confused by it. Like he didn't know what to do with it. God I wish I had that clip.

My opinion - the song is one of the Pixies' more traditional pop-songs, and very reminiscent of the Beatles. The chord is therefore a homage to A Hard Day's Night.

Here Comes Your Man: 330011 - G7sus4
Beatles (debatable but): 303213 - G7sus2/4, or 353533 - G7sus4

So not so unique.

No, no, I meant the reverb and stuff on it. The way it sounds.

It's the first chord from Here Comes Your Man, and it makes sense that they'd use that considering they're really just listing the "hot alternative rockers" of each year... Here comes your man, get it?

The breakup isn't exactly something to love about the nineties, is it?

I believe that's a clip from the "Here Comes Your Man" video they show BF in, correct? And yes, it's 1990.
