with every new release frank always has song that dont initally sound "right"... as if timing is wierd or the chord prog. is very akward or sometime.. yet, after about 2 listens they are the best songs you've heard to date... has he a formulaic sort of thing for this (or does thing weirdness come naturaly)... he often says that just the way he hears it but i dont understand it... e.g. "california bound" and "his kingly cave"... especially the latter where he goes through about 12 chords (not repeating) before doing it again..
another example of just damn weird rythmn is the opening to "bad wicked world"... fucking amazing song.... its unintelligable the first few listens but then takes hold.....
also he often comes up with great songs which are so basic (in chords used and in melody) that you can't believe no-one has come up with them before (even you).... like "st. francis dam .." and "billy radcliffe" and "if it takes all night"......
anyways, thats for me is his genious (and i dont think anybody else can match the guy)....
