I don't believe I've ever heard anyone mention Hardcore Logo, a fairly obscure mockumentary about a punk band named Hardcore Logo. Quentin Tarantino's production company, Rolling Thunder, has re-released it (not recently, a while ago), so it isn't as hard to find as it used to be. It's not a Spinal Tap type of mockumentary, it's more serious and less gaggy, but it's still got plenty of comedy in it, albeit a different formula of comedy.

The band in the film reunites 10 or 15 years after splitting. The filmmakers follow them around as they play their wild shows and live their wild lives. It's been a while since I saw it so I'm a bit hazy on the premise. But anyway, I highly recommend it. The creepy Julian Richings has a great part in the film. Joey Ramone appears very briefly.

Yeah and they play songs like "Sonic Reducer" by the Dead Boys. I have the DVD, it's so so not great except for the end where they all trip and kill that goat.

Not to be a spoiler, but the ending really friggin' shocked me.

When I rented Hard Core Logo the clerk figured it was a porno.

She thought it would be funny to shout, "Hard Core is due back by tomorrow afternoon!"

Well, the goat part isn't the ending. That's a little before it. There's still more fun to be had after that.
