my kid is 15 and she loves the pixies. apparantly the soothing tones of doolittle worked there magic on her as a kid.

My kids were born in '88 and '89, and both say the Pixies are their favorite band. (This may change when we see Devo in two weeks.) |

July 2 1988 for me. You'd be surprised how many people our age are into the pixies. |

...I have to hand it to you kids, it is one thing to have been exposed to them via MTV in the 80s and to have become a fan, but I think it requires a bit more curiosity to have become fans post-Pixies....kudos to you. |

I didn't have MTV in the eighties. I'm old enough (26) to have known about the Pixies the first time around, but I didn't.

I'm old too. My sister was born in 1988, I was 12 at the time...I have a hard time getting used to the fact she'll be 16, and into the Pixies as well...although it's because of me. It's pretty cool though.

That's the boat I was in. I am 26 and didn't know about them the first time around. I didn't know about half of what I listen to when those bands were active. I didn't find out about the Pixies until after a friend introduced me to Frank Blacks first two solo albums in 1996. Then they threw the Pixies at me.

My kid sister was born in 1988 and I got her into the Pixies by giving her DOOLITTLE for her birthday last year. She already knew some Pixies fans in her high school though, so she wasn't completely unfamiliar with the band. Some kid in one of her classes is in a band that covers "Something Against You" (and no, I've never heard them).
She eventually bought SURFER ROSA, BOSSANOVA, COMPLETE B-SIDES, and the DVD on her own. I gave her the first Breeders last Christmas cuz I thought she'd like it (she's really into "girl bands"), but she hasn't enthused about it as much as she has over the Pixies or some other bands I've gotten her into (The Cramps, Devo). I thinking about buying her TEENAGER OF THE YEAR, but I'm not sure yet. |

I was actually born all the way back in 1955 so I've been Pixielated for almost a third of my life. Yikes. I wish I could find a way of saying how glad I am that people less than half my age are rejecting the standard optional hype and rediscovering the Pixies without sounding like Don Kirshner. It is a small sign of hope in this age of hypeglut and apathetic cool. All you Pixielings have my absolute complete and total respect. Youth Culture Lives! |

My wife is giving birth to our own little pixling in about 6 weeks, if I let him/her post gibberish, we may well have the oldest & youngest FBF members in one location. How often does that happen? |

I'm 31... being a Pixies fan since 88. So i was 16 years old, i remember the day i bought my Surfer Rosa LP... after 30 secs of bone machine I said to myself "what the hell?! I was looking for this band all of my life"... and here I am.. still the same Pixies-maniac :-)

I went to school with Robert_Eiffel, so I'm in the same boat. I was born in March 24, '88. It doesn't make me any lesser of a fan, though. Unfortunately my parents were too busy taking care of my sis and I to know the Pixies. I had to introduce my dad to the Pixies recently, since he'd never heard anything about them. It's pretty funny.
