the pixies made me kind of insane.

Surfer rosa/come on pilgrim is a milestone in a field I can't define other than musically. It's more than I can understood right now.

It seems to be some kind of blueprint. I'm too close to see the complete thing... maybe 14 years later from it's creation it's still too yet early. I think that album made me kind of insane since I first heard it. That cd is like a portable nuclear reactor for my fucked up life.

I'm fairly certain there have been all kinds of blueprints from
influential people like Hendrix, the Beatles, etc... most of whom's instructions have been fulfilled as much as possible.

The pixies gave birth to a lot of what we remember as the 90's. Fight Club was the perfect music video for 'Where is My Mind?' David Fincher, the director, seems to have seen some of the blueprint. OK Computer seems to have picked up on that blueprint (if not the rest of Radiohead's catalogue). Tony's Theme sounds like a precursor to the White Stripe's.

I can't say for certain if even the pixies knew what they'd done. From Doolittle onwards, the ambition/angle/intent/tack were slightly different. While still abstract and outerworldly, they are yet unlike the earliest material which could have been dreamt up in those purer environments of naivete and youth.

Creative people everywhere, the fans, recognize the quality. I guess what i'm getting at is 'beyond what's already happened, do we consciously move forward on this blueprint?' We've simply been 'letting things happen' so far and in my opinon, things have run out of steam. I'm tired of the world the way it is. I'm still waiting for some of those unfinished promises to be kept. Are we too old? Is it too late for certain things? Was 9/11 brought to us indirectly by the blueprint? Were the collapsing towers the latest reality video incarnation for Where is My Mind?

You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon.' Need I say more?

A single butterfly flapping its wings can produce a hurricane on the other side of the world.
I seriously doubt hurricanes are big butterfly fans.
The gusts of wind from the hurricane influence the winds the single butterfly fly upon.
I seriously doubt butterflies are big hurricane fans.
